Since I live in a dank hole gouged in to the earth's crust by the claws of evil incarnate, I don't get a lot of door to door stuff, but since said hole is in a swing state, and I'm an Independent, I get a lot of automated political voicemails from politicians and C list celebrities telling me how to vote. Just today Obama called me and told me, technically, not to vote for change.

I'll admit I didn't really study the candidates. I voted a straight ticket, not that it will help since both parties, by my lights, are mostly indistinguishable. For example, the Florida gubernatorial candidates: one is a Republican governor and the other is a former Republican governor. I find it hilarious that Repubs think Obama is too far to the left.
In other news, the UN seems to think global warming may be unstoppable at this point... Do our politicians care? Didn't think so.

Well, my second interview is a thing that happened. It's hard to read someone that smiles a lot when it's a polite smile. I guess I'll know how I did sometime within a week.

Well I'm excited to vote. If you don't vote...then you have no standing to female dog about politics.

Yeah, sorry. I was jumping the gun a bit on that one .. US style election rallies always seem to be more public-oriented than UK ones. In the UK we get door to door leaflet distributors, which I'm sure you have as well, but I can't ever remember seeing politicians in real life over here. The local MPs usually do plenty of visits to the town centres if you wanna speak to them. Ours in Dorset is a nice bloke, ex-marine.

My renegades continue well. I am in need of a few ClanRats to expand the conversions. The Ghouls are turning out very well, and I've knocked together a few more Beastmen.
I've also discovered that I suffer from plastic/resin dust scoliosis from all my heavy converting. Dust mask time.
Also, what's the best material for making buildings out of?
Update: A decent cyberpunk tune for us all.

I'd have to wear a rubber suit and gas-mask to keep the reptilian slime off me. Meeting MPs indeed..

Some more detailing for my Colonial Marines costume: I got a helmet band and stuck the obligatory pack of smokes in it. I also found a Seiko Pulsemeter for cheap on eBay. This is the actual model of watch that Hicks and some of the other Colonial Marines wore in the movie. I need to replace the band with an OD velcro strap (I have some on order), and should probably take it to a jeweler so they can open it up and replace the battery/see if it still works.

If it doesn't work, is that game over, man? If it doesn't work, my plan is to fabricate up a face for the watch that will make it look like it's been smashed.

So today I backed my first Kickstarter. The game looks pretty cool, as do the minis.

The tragedy is that if you walked around where I worked with that spiffy, groovy outfit, firstly you'd get harassed for being in the military (even the future star marines), then you'd get the drunks trying to get at your Marlboros, finally the cops would arrest you for carrying an offensive weapon; the watch. You could 'ave someone's eye out with that. Seriously.

So, the good news is that the watch works. The bad news is that the jeweler didn't get around to removing the wristband as I'd requested because some termagant wandered into the store while he was working on my watch and started demanding in a heavily-accented voice that her broken jewelry problem was more important than what he was working on and that he attend to her. I figure I probably will be able to remove the band myself, after a bit of research is done on my end.

those watches have a long pin (inner) which is inserted into another thin cylindrical pin (outer).
the inner pin has a spring at the bottom which pushes it into the socket on the watch
you need to insert something very thin and flat into the gap between the strap and the edge of the watch and depress the inner pin into the outer one.
It shouldn't matter which end you depress as they are both losers who are susceptible to taunting, neither of which do much good for their community or the world in general. In fact we would be better of without them. (well, all except you and your watch - but don't tell them that).
sorry.. I mean that it won't matter which end you push down as they should both come out of their sockets easily enough.
Beware the spring leaping out.
hope that helps.

Using the watch in a close combat scenario just sounds like suicide. It's not a digital weapon, man No, far better to have a frozen haddock handy, or a solid leg of lamb and a dustbin lid for a shield.

With the weapon laws in the UK, it makes me wonder if studying martial arts or self defense might get one on some sort of watch list. Much like stockpiling dozens of firearms all at once might do in the US.

Much like stockpiling dozens of firearms all at once might do in the US. That would be a watchlist primarily consisting of twelve year olds. Or implying our government could keep track of anyone, including it's own employees. When the police were trying to find me last week, they had to call me and ask for my address.
