What is your favorite special and heavy weapon combo?
I am personally fond of Autocannon and Plasmagun.
However, I also use Missile Launcher/Plasmagun and Heavy Bolter/Grenade Launcher.

as some of you are all to aware, I try not to combine at all (it represents real world tactics more if nothing else). So i have alot of special weapons in my command squads (lots of mobility) and heavy weapons in my squads (the main firing line).
If i do mix and match, its usually with a grenade launcher (because its the longest range without being too expensive), or the flamer (because its the cheapest as a backup weapon).

Missile launcher and grenade launcher
Both good general purpose weapons for armour or mass targets and both have a decent range. I've equipped all my squads with these.

I generally don't use a combination. If I want my Squad to shoot, I will give it a Rocket and 9 Lasguns. If I want it to assault (which I 99%, do) I give them Meltaguns and Flamers. Lately, I have been taking advantage of the 5 Point Sniper Upgrade for Light Infantry. He does come in handy from time to time, especially at 5 Points, he's a steal.

I currently only have eight squads with a missile launcher and plasma gun each. HavenĀ“t played a single game with the "new" codex yet though but it worked greatly before, whether I need to move or stand still.

Missile launcher and Grenade launcher, I use these for all my infantry squads because this makes them capable of dealing with anything my opponent throws at me. For more specific weapons like lascannons or mortars I have my Heavyweapon platoons and support squads. And the plasma/melta weapons are great for stormies and veterans cause they can bring more of these with them.
Although I am thinking of making an exception to this rule by giving my other platoon a Heavybolter/grenade launcher combo, cause it's very cheap and handy!

i tend to go for this approach. i have some platoons equiped with assault weapons to move and take objectives/counter attacks and another platoon or so along with the HQ support squads with heavy weapons. that way i have some shooting that can move and have fire support across most of the table.

Jungle fighters with flamer + heavy flamer! For the most part, I stick with heavy weapons or special weapons and don't mix much. Exception is the occasional command squad dqployed into cover with a heavy bolter and grenade launchers. Makes 'em keep their heads down

I tend to favour the autocannon/grenade launcher for my covering squads and heavy bolter/flamer for my assaulting squads....but i really gotta say...that is just in theory....lol...i have yet to experience my baptism of fire, still very much a noob

Lascannons and plasma guns are in almost every one of my squads. I play against heavy marines all the time and the best approach for me is to deny their armour saves. Yes, I've popped up to 7 of my plasma gunners in one game to overheating, but atleast it gives my victems, er, opponents a chance.

though he has a right to voice his opinion on the matter to be sure lascannons and plasmaguns are an expeeeensive way to go, but they sure can put the hurt on anything you decide to shoot at.

Heavy bolters are always gonna be my fave, as they are so cheap. meltaguns are another favourite, as nobody tends to use them except for tank hunting, so nobody knows how to counter it.
