I have come to the conclusion that eldar are the hardest ever. Read their codex,The rangers roll of a 6 get an AP1 shot autokilling anything. They can land on immbolisised and not die they can move 36inches up the field AND In cover with the special rules pathfinder they get 2+ cover save!

The new Eldar are good I'll admit, but they're no where near as tough as Necrons. I had a game against some of the new Eldar last week, I ended up with a tie. My opponent didn't have any rangers though..........

Tau, I hate the little buggers, I don't mind Kroot, they die really easily and run away even easier, however Tau cause me no end of problems. They have big shooty guns, that unlike my big shooty guns are accaurate, they have Battlesuits, which just annoy the life out of me and those bloody Pulse Rifles just tear my brave Imperial Guard to bits, not to mention the frigging Rail Gun's that always seems to get some line of sight on my lovely Leman Russ Battle Tank's. I hate them!

a smart necron player who's learned well to defend against phase out can be a real menace. I've recently been thrashed so hard by mechanized melee oriented eldar that they're now my new most hated enemy. seriously broken army, that. I'm still trying to figure out ways to counter the threat but haven't been able to try using infiltrating light infantry as a massive speedbump to get them out of their hard to kill transports long enough for me to soften them up with some ranged vollies before they come and crush my firebases. so far though, all my base are belong to them... I would have to say SM... Out of the 12 players in my town, 8 of them play Space Marines... OUCH

Lawl, space marines are nothing, they claim guard sucks, but its all upon the commanders shoulders, all the failures and blunders is all because of the tactical stupidity of the imperial commander, not the guardsmen.

Napolean could be using guard and loose to a retarded Chimp using SM quite easily. They are good at everything!

tau. they are like us but GW has made them better in every way, However,I have found the three greatest anti tau weapons known to man. 1. The Griffon. Seriously, it instant kills their line infantry, can hide behind area terrain (very few fire warriors within 12") AND COSTS SLIGHTLY MORE THAN YOUR AVERAGE INFANTRY SQUAD. Oh bugger, I left caps lock on. 2. The Leman russ exterminatior. 11 AP4 shots a turn, Russ armour. Bueno. 3. the hellhound (Darkside: If you need explaination as to this, you're gonna die anyway)

I tend to find nids are my most hated enemy. Tau have this confidence in their guns and mobility against guard and rightly so... I assault with everything. Lure a tau player into moving units to fire at bait not thinking you will be using this to get them closer and then move in to tie up as many units (rough riders tend to be fun to use at this swift move). now you have got tau units caught the rest of your army is allowed to move out and make it a real problem for them. Tau players see a few squads in assault and panic, good chance to concentrate your own fire while they are watching the assaults more. Probably not the best strategy but a fun one at least. As for necron I let them think their "monolith is truly terrifying, how could it be doing all that too my few hundred points of men! I must save them from it!" Followed by a sneaky shuffle and phase out turn of firing. Pie plates sure do make life a bit easier with range and obvious killing. Sometimes you can move the tank towards things they think you're scared of just to then fire at their now visible troops. Hard to do unless you can appear to be a noob... or just are one I have no experience of someone who can wield an eldar army with any skill so I'm on a hot winning streak against them. I have a hate for them marine land speeders and their anti infantry abilities while flying about the board but otherwise its an even battle in general. I haven't even played orks since 3rd edition, I think that should change with new codex coming so my glorious heavy bolters will finally have a worthy infantry opponent. Same with dark eldar, they seem to be avoided like the plague or at least people prefer to play their other armies. Perhaps I'm playing below par players. I certainly don't think either necron or tau tactic would fool a good player. I guess you could say I play by often letting the enemy do exactly what they are good at while it suits me and then use that predictability to my advantage. Standard stuff I do believe. nids however just run at me with not much I can do too change it so I tend to become quite static. Shooting my way out of the game and hoping that saves the day. Guess I just haven't figured anti nid tactica for my army. I tell the troops down the player to model vox that they cant be good at everything and move on to the next game. arrgghhh must stop typing before I make everyone nod off asleep.

Snoreee.... But seriously, there is no way to kill nids other than to sit and shoot. And kill the syspanse beasties.

Specifically, the SM all asault army is my most hated foe. The army involves 3 dreads geared up for cc in drop pods, a couple of landspeeder tornadoes, and everything else wears a jump pack.

The hardest army to play against for me is the Tau. If you go an all out tank list, they blow em apart with railguns and fusion blasters. If you go an all infantry list, they just bring out the trusty old firewarrior and the hammerhead with its instant death pie plate which does not scatter!!
That said, marines are my most hated enemy, so many play them and it seems that they got everything in one army. Though i would never play as them myself, i dislike the fluff and playing style.

tau have never given me trouble. sure the first turn is the worst when they wipe 2 squads out but then i usually get my range and just rain the hell down on them. nothing to be truly scarded at for long. my belief is to just throw enough dice at them that they will eventually fail and die!
marines are annoying to say the least. i play against 10 of them down here and they all give me trouble until the leman russes start up.
necrons dont give me trouble.
nids just line up the guard 13 inches infront of your hellhounds and when they die just open up with the flame templates!

Yeah well, all armies can be taken down as long as you use proper tactics and brains...dont scream charge and lead them in like the bloody red army!

although sometimes you might want to do that. my infantry once charged a group of buildings containing 3 squads of fire warriors. the fire was devastating but the hso kept them in there and when the charge hit home there was no saving the commies.

LoL. yeah I can see "tactical charges" being needed, but in most cases dont just run out into the open like a super tard, otherwise your guys are super toast.

true a hellhound or chimera even sentinels can pack a heavier punch with the infantry then the grunts ever could by themselves. although it can keep a vehicle from shooting.
i remember in my last battle my opponent used the drop pods with the extra guns (i forget what they are called but its the one with the heavy 1 st5 ap- large blast) anyway it posed a very real threat to my soldiers after the venerable dread it was carrying was desposed of. so lacking the guns to take it out that turn i just had a loose squad of men charge the pod effectivly taking it of the game for the rest of the turn. keeping it from effectivly taking out any of my men seeing as how it couldnt run away or attack me.

Umm, dont post stats. But, yeah, charges are pretty fun if you have guys that can take it. Like ogryns or other more close combat specialized troopers.

I absolutely hate fighting tau. Especially battlesuits (especially with multi-trackers). By battlesuits I mean broadsides, Crisis Suits and Stealth suits. My friend was able to wipe out 5 squads of infantry in quick succession and then finished off any survivors with only 3 battsuits and 1 broadside. I mean I dont think i'm a bad commander, but battlesuits are just mean. And they are just going to get meaner once that new set with 9 crisis suits and 3 stealth comes out. yikes.

I feel that you hate everything commissar. I've figured out that the easiest way to kill deepstriking marines is to stick in cover with as many men as possible and rapidfire them unto death as they land. (lots of plasma guns)
