But it said Optimus Prime! How can I resist, being an uber Transformers nerd? And the trygon kit is so freakin' sexy... Didn't know you were into bugs... Reds The things you learn about people.

Genestealers man, Genestealers.
My whole 40k obsession can be traced back to a single stealer given to me before I was too young to fully comprehend the ramifications

Well, I suppose they're good for something, then. But I never liked them. That three-armed one didn't help their image in in my eyes.

A small number of lame models in the space hulk box is no excuse to like them less...espically when you consider the fact that you also get a few handfulls of really cool stealer models also included in that set. I'm going to base and paint all those suckers one day...Genestealer list MKII!
The only thing I don't really like about this new book is the lack of a Broodlord HQ...I guess I'll use my flying tyrant in that list plus gargoyles...Vanguard Swarm!

Can the tryanid prime take wings?

Prime can't take wings, however from artwork i've figured how to convert a harpy. Trigon body straightened out, with the head brought up, stanglethorn cannons mounted on the front arms. Wings on the lower arms. Spore cysts from the fex kit on the chest.

^ Yup, I saw someone at my GW doing that yesterday, looked pretty good, the only tricky part is straightening out the tail...

Another list...this time 1000 points
Tyranid Prime lashwhip and bonesword death spitter=100
15 Genestealers&Broodlord=270
5 warriors+death spitters=175
19 Termagants=95
Carnifex+Bioplasma=180
Carnifex+Bioplasma=180
Thinking I'll have the stealers infiltrate and send them in on the first wave as my warriors+prime surge forward with the gants and the Carnifexes draw fire and kill anything that gets within range.

That sounds good. Two carnifexes is slightly Nidzilla, but if you have them already then use them just as they are. Are termagants good all in one squad like that? Aren't you risking a Punisher cannon firing squad vs some opponents?

Don't be silly. Nobody risks anything when facing a punisher.

Don't be silly. Nobody risks anything when facing a punisher. Aside from dying of laughter after it doesn't do anything. I jest, I jest.

Hey if he wants to shoot at gants and ignore the real threats that is fine with me, that's what the little bastards are there for.
Today I built my Tyranid Prime!! looks good.(espically considering the examples I've found on the internet!) No camera for a few days at least...so you all might not get to see before he gets painted.

Sorry. What I meant to say was for a few extra points you can have 2x 10 termagant squads. Wouldn't that last longer if someone was shooting at you, or are they better in a big mob (like orks)?

Just one more and you could have 2x 10 termagants.

I wish there was a serpent-styled 'nid HQ. I don't find dinosaur-bugs to be as scary as dinosaur-bug-slithery things.

I guess the Trygon Prime works in an HQ-ish role, what with the synapse and all...
Then again I've seen people model Tyrants with snakey tails, I assumed they'd just lost the legs, but it looks pretty cool.

HQ-ish not being the actual HQ choice I had assumed it would be. Not like I can't use it as a proxy if I really wanted.

The tervigon is pretty scary. If only there wasn't that rolling a double to cancel out the termagant brood birth thing.

It wouldn't be that hard to obtain tyrant arms, you could probably just order the MC weapon sprue and convert from there. I've built myself a lash whip and a bonesword/claw/shield doodad for my new tyrant just from scything talons and GS...
