Ogryns are vulnerable to high strength weapons...lascannons, missile launchers....the lot....this vulnerability is increased by the fact that they are big targets and are exposed especially when out in the field and opponents often want to see them go down.... Landraiders are vunlerable to Lascannons. As are every other trooper in a guard army. What is the point here as your opponent wants to see your entire army go down.

Now heres something that REALLY grinds my gears: the Apocalypse Ogryn Auxillia set comes with 10 Ogryns and 5 troops, a commisar and an officer, for 150 Canadian! Now I realize that I am saving against buying all that seperatly, but whos dumb enough to do that anyway? BRING BACK THE OGRYN FIVE-PACK!

Snipers aren't cheap either, 2 for $15 with tax, might as well buy some infantry!!

I had a squad of ratlings kill a Necron lord, 2 tomb Spiders, 2 heavy destroyers, and 2 wraiths. BTW the wraiths were in close combat (in one game). Ratlings have a higher initiative than guardsmen odd. But ratlings are devistating if you can keep them alive. they are excellent endgame pieces if you put them up high and dry. Nothing beats infiltrating into a tall building and picking things off when the fighting dies down. I pick up a squad of ten and then add snipers in special weapons squads.
Hit the stores on discount days thats where i picked up my snipers.

Ratlings are 200% worth their points!!!! Name one other squad that costs ~100 points and can EASILY destroy 4 or 5 times that over the course of a game. That is, of course, if you keep them protected...

Ogryns mounted in a chimera can be very good in certian situations. They can slo be a good counter charging unit if u can keep them behind some arena terrain out of LOS next to ur firebase until the enemy get close. And for those who say they are not worth their points they are WAY cheeper than tooling up a command squad for close combat. If used them as a counter charging unit as i described above they are much better value for points than commisars or HSOs or honorificas in CC. An you cant really say no to wounded SMs and orcs on 2s with 19+ attacks, can u?

I'm a huge fan of ratlings. Havent tried the orgyns yet but I had ratlings do 4 wounds to a ctan in 1 shooting phase. Definatly worth the points.
