I have a Tallarn style infantry heavy army. My buddy and I trade figs from time to time, and I find myself with SIX sentinels to play with. I have heard guys talk about keeping them in (1) sentinel squads due to the low AV ... I have all my fast attack points open. Which of the following (or suggest an alternate) options would you recommend I implement: 1) Three squads, two each, las sqd, multi las sqd, missle sqd 2) Two squads, three each, combo equipped 3) Three squads, 1 las, 1 las, 3 rocket battery The Ensigneers have arrived, the parts are prepped for assembly, now I just need a plan. Thanks for your help!

I have three sentinals (right now) and I keep them in a full squadron. I have two multilaser armed and an autocannon sentinal. I like having the full squadron mainly for anti-infantry work and to screen my tanks, for whatever reason everyone wants to shoot my sents rather than the russ behind them. Also you can assault with the sents and tie up really good units in close combat.

If you are playing Talarin with the doctrines out of the dex' like i do then i use them as my tanks.Talarins are suposed to be light infantry, desert specialists. To my mind a leman russ isn't very fluffy for a light infantry regament.I use my Sentinals in my Talarin army as heavy support.you can have 4 squads of 3 so why not do that,or even 3 squads and 1 of rough riders for counter assault.
Keep like type sentinals together, they just work better that way.
the sentinal upgrades are great too, anything from a las cannon to flamers and if your friends let you use FW rules you can have multi-meltas and heavy bolters, missile launchers...
Sentinals are great for flankers too, 9 multi laser shots in one turn is still something to make marine players take notice
Hope this helps some

1 thing to remember if putting sentinels in to a squad, u could loose the entire squad to 1 volloy of bolter fire!!!!!!!!!
If you have to choice slots free, I would prob use them for more flexibility. Also means that 1 5 man squad of marines can't wipe out a whole squadron.

;D
I just recently added a Demolisher to my Company ... and Basilisks are to follow for that HEAVY support. My plan is to have Sentinels in all THREE fast attack slots, as well as one open HQ slot giving me 4 available slots, max 12 sentinels.
Do you guys use the FW varieties, or do you stick with the Codex versions?
I thought, just for the urine off factor, of having a group with heavy flamers just to rush in and torch the baddies.

I would go for the first option because it give you more flexibility whith placement and you can provide fire support in more than on part of the board.

well with the heavy flamers make sure you use the path with most terrain also i would proably stick with las and multis personly but hay what ever you want i've always toyed with having 12 sents on the field since they have a scout move use this to your advantae in oder to get the enemys at squads in the wrong area.

As the techs begin sorting through the pieces, this is what I have decided: 2 pack of Multi-laser sentinels in the command platoon 1 las cannon sentinel FA 1 las cannon sentinel FA 1 auto cannon sentinel FA

Used two sentinels in a game the other week against Inquisition ... results:
Multi-laser sentinel did fairly well, but Space Marines save ... Heavy flamer ... got immobilized before I had a chance to flame on.
