Dante w/ Honor guard - jump packs, flamer, meltagun, chapter banner, plasma pistol 450
Sanguinary Guard - infernus pistol - 210
Sanguinary Guard - infernus pistol - 210
DC @ 5 - infernus pistol, jump packs - 130
Twenty-one guys, half with a 2+ armor save, and all with jump packs. Fluffy for my marines, and not unbeatable. Certainly nowhere near as cheesey as I could have made it.

Exactly. Plasma could break this list in an instant. And cover's tricky for jumpers. But it would be so fun, and I could carry everything in a single Ziploc bag...

Hmmm... you should be careful with DC. Seriously, they are easily controlled by your opponent. Instead of Honor Guard, why don't you put Dante with the Sanguinary Guard with Chapter Banner? Instead of picking up HG, you should think about Vanguard Veterans, they are pretty much the same price, and if you wish they can assault in the same turn they Deep Strike. Oh, and if you can, don't pick up Plasma Pistol, get a Infernus Pistol, it's always better.

Dante's there so that the SG are troops. The HG are there because Dante's there, and will act as his squad from which he can't be singled out as an SC. Which is important. The DC are there to be an angry bullet soak, and soak bullets they can do. There's not much on my side of the table, but everything is an intimidating unit in assault, and they all have jump packs. So the fear of swords, and the speed of advance is going to unnerve some opponents. I doubt I would take this list against a competent IG player, but I'd certainly be fun against MEQs.

What you mean by Dante's can't be singled out as an SC? I play with a Blood Angels army, and if I were you I would use Sanguinary Guard with Dante, Chapter banner makes dante have 7 attacks when Charging, and he can re-roll one of his attacks, not only that, if the enemy fail his Leadership test you will cause a LOT of wreckage.

Haha wow, that's almost as compact an army as my deathwing. I really fancy some of the sanguinary guard, what amazing models, but I don't really want the normal blood angel marines. But now I know Dante makes the guard troops I shall go order a few boxes of them. =D
Thanks dude.

What you mean by Dante's can't be singled out as an SC? The HG is counted as being part of Dante's unit, and vice versa. With it, he's just another badass in the group, and can't be picked out of it for bullying by enemies. And since he's not a beneficiary of eternal warrior, you want him in combat, and to stay there. Once there, not being able to be singled out is a huge help against big nasties.
