Those cloaks look great. Any tips on how to do them well?

Cheers guys, I've had a bit of a hiatus on the hobby side with RL getting in the way of the good stuff, but I've managed to do a little more on the squad and get them badged up. They turned out pretty well considering they're the first bit of detailed sculpting I've done. I also did their bases, hope you like them guys .... Now all I need to do is to give them cloaks. If anyone knows of any good cloak tutorials, please pass them on.

I love what you're doing with the old school metal Catachans. They look ace!

Cheers mate, glad you like them. I've been working on doing more flatter cloaks for Harkers squad. I was so pleased with how they turned out considering that I'd never done flat cloaks before that I ended up breaking Harker's cloak off and redoing it .... I've still got to add the hoods and clasps to the cloaks but overall, they turned out ok. There's more pics of the squad on my blog ... corbaniaprime.blogspot.com/2010/11/update-on-harkers-squad.html

Yay for Berets! I liked Harker's old cloak more than the new one, as it gave him distinction. The new cloak still looks brilliant though

commissarbob - Cheers mate, I'm slowly getting there with them. @commissar - Thanks mate, great praise considering I'm relatively new to this sculpting larker. Walrus - Cheers mate, each to their own on the cloaks, but glad you like the new one's anyway. marbo - No wind with these guys, hopefully the next batch will look at bit more dynamic. I'll also be having a go at adding more folds and some feathering to the bottom of the cloaks. If you're interested guys, I've done a simple tutorial on how I did them on my blog ... corbaniaprime.blogspot.com/2010/11/tutorial-how-to-sculpt-green-stuff.html

Finally finished sculpting Harker's squad .... Now it's time to crack open the paints and get them camo'd up.

Bizarre as it might sound, one of the best aspects of the squad is that you've managed to get all the cloaks looking the same (rather than a mismatch), and great looking to boot!

It may have taken 18 months but I finished them today :-)

I love how you spent 18 months on them and you end up painting them grey. I would actual say your job is done "too" good because they look like something you just bought and painted. Can we maybe get a picture of their backside and a zoom in on one of them?

I too would like to see photos of them from different angles, and--if you have time--of them as individuals. They look really nice!

you can barely recognise them from the catchan models they started out as... the tshirts and berets really changes the look... the capes look so tidy and crisp... just fantastic...

Love the way you manage to pull of your theme, it really looks great but not over the top. One of the better guard armies overall I've seen.

Some top notch work, really great looking models. But wouldn't the squad be more effective if they all had the same special weapons?
