I just converted a platoon of jungle fighters with heavy flamer and flamer in each as well as command with 2 flamers a heavy flamer and a medic. I was wondering what you all think of this In my experience so far all these flamers, even against marines have been very effective. Be they on chimeras or hell hounds removing the limitations of our ballistic skill really helps. Will also run a regular platoon alongside it as well as two armored fist squads. Thoughts. I am going to green stuff all fo them some cloaks soon and ill post pics when they are done.

I'm looking at jungle fighters for my new guard army too and I gotta say - I'm reallyreally a fan. alot of the forest templates I use are deeper than 6" so the ability to make use of the entire cover save space is a great bonus....beyond that getting an enhanced cover save is icing on the cake...then the edge about moving thru cover is totally sweet too, because when I have to move pre-emptively to charge an incoming enemy to rob them of their charge bonus, then I can do so with a guarantee that 1 unit will be enough to for sure make the distance which is critical. I'm totally cool with not having the heaviest heavy weapons cuz my army is a feral world army anyway - it's all backwater with a low tech, hodge-podge assortment of whatever equipment can be gathered kind of feel. here's a pic of the first couple dudes for this army: but yeah, I totally dig jungle fighters, it's a great doctrine for the points. as far as the flamer stuff goes - it really changes the shape of how you are intending your infantry to work. it puts it more in a scope of your infantry being a volley of anti-infantry small arms fire and then a rapid fire volley of death with a gout of flame or two on top to really drive home the anti-infantry effect. you get basically nothing for dealing with vehicles like transports or anything that may try to stand off with you at range and trade fire. this can be dangerous, so making sure you compensate by giving your army some solid batteries of autocannons or something to take out incoming transports and tanks or lascannon batteries to kill off enemy tanks - stuff like that's important if you go with a real flamer-ish jungle fighter infantry army.
