I have 4 preachers and am starting to paint them with white robes with green sleaves/cuff ends with gold trim. I was going to paint them all green like the Ayanti (sp?) from the Ghosts novels though that would clash with my base colour. I was wondering what colours people have used or would use.

Ive tried the eavy metal red and white with yellow flames and it looks tacky unless done really well IMO. I prefer dirty beige with brown for that fanatical "i-dont-wash" look. ;D
Main Robe: Snakebite Leather base coat, heavily drybrushed with bleached bone (for the uneven coat), recesses washed with thin flesh wash, edges highlighted skull white.
Everything else is done in a range of browns

First I tried scorched brown, like a monk. Then red with a white trim and a white beard, like Santa, now he is black with red trim, like the Inquisition, kinda.

Well for me I make them look as high priests. Therefore they wear white robes with my armies signature colour, water-raceway blue (not a GW paint). It looks really good. Any special bits are then painted with a gold colour.

Another cool feature is to have the bottom of their robes painted with a little brown to make it look like they have walked through a muddy field.

The infardi are pilgrims to saint sabbat hence:the sabbat worlds. Ayanti are priesty type dudes of the same pilgramage. The infardi item that shows thier faith to sabbat was a green silk robe thing.

I once saw a white/purple painted comissar in WD ages ago (issue unknown) and since i've used this colour scheme to paint commisars, commanders, preists, pyskers. It may look silly in some armies but it does distinguish them.
The colour scheme features mostly white then other smaller bits of clothing purple then very detailed bits gold.
Hope this provides some insparation!
Personally i think preists look better in tatty clothes and painted in earthy colours!
