Take the Holy Orb of Antioch no matter what. Its way too much fun to leave behind.

Is it anything like the holy hand grenade?

That is exactly what it is. In the Holy Grail it was called the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, for the BT its the Holy Orb of Antioch. If it hits something, that something is really going to feel it.

The only problem with the Monty Python reference is that every single time you declare you're using it, someone overhears and goes through the entire damn routine. Extra negative points if it's a store employee.
"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three... Why are you strangling me? Put that baseball bat down! Help me!

You mean...like you just did, just now? My BT playing friend has gone WFB-crazy of late and not got his Templars out, so I've avoided that enough to be able to post a small snippet I always kinda liked the Black Templars... but only because I love post heresy Imperial Fists. The idea behind them is beautiful, as well as the fact (or inference, at least) that there are thousands upon thousands of them (anywhere between 5 and 20, and combining them all at once could clear out the Eye of Terror, eradicate the Tau, take down a Hive Fleet, etc). Anyway. Emperor's Champions are great, 5 man Melta-bomb suicide assault squads going tank-hunting are great, Drop-podding Terminators can be fun too. Some of their special rules are useful, others are pointless, but you can still make a decent, competitive army if used right.

Another one can't hurt. Some people will cry cheese over two land raider lists. When they do get redone the Templars should get Stormravens.

That really depends on what type of LR. The LRC is the optimal transport, and is a dedicated transport for Troops and Elites. The HOoA is not a necessity, but a nice touch, and EC is though if fielding more than 500 points.
I can help on all but the vehicle load out, BT footsloggers is currently my main (and only) army.

Stormravens seems appropriate, being a crusading force and all.
