Has anyone out there ever tried converting a land speeder squadron for use with the Guard? Maybe using the "counts as" rules {W.D. # 309} or anything for that matter. I was just wondering I was going to start converting but I was looking for some opinions first. p.s.: if someone has converted one I would love to see what it looks like or what counts as rules you used {i.e. counts as reaver jetbike ,or whatever } I will post pictures of my speeder squadron as i complete it (EDIT) www.pbase.com/igplayer420/speeder_cnversionsah-ha the first few detail pics have arrived

Dont know if this is on the right lines but i made a salamander scout *jeep*out of a land speeder hull. its piled full of upgrades and really does look like an IG scout vehicle. i wa gong to keep it in the air but thought thayt was a bit high tech for your average gaurdsman and also wouldnt fit the salamader rules that well) iI only ever use it in friendlys though (i would put up a pictue but its packed away at the moment for moving house )

sounds pretty cool , I like the idea of lowering the speeder closer to the ground, with your permission, I might try it on a few of my squadron ....... pictures soon

There was one in an old WD(UK). It had stretched landspeeders that counted as chimeras. If I find it I'll post some pics.

I was planning on knoking out the rear wall and seats as well as extending the rear floor for equipment transport, but i could easily stretch the back end with plasticard and count it as a chimera. Thats a really good idea.I'd love to see those pics Pics www.pbase.com/igplayer420/speeder_cnversions

dunno much about the coversion work, but I have seen a guard painted landspeeder on ebay not more than a day ago. Also I do have a model of an original guard landspeeder that has had its weapons configureation changed at some point in the past. I'd go with the Jeeps, they sound ace, really should be in all guard forces!

I've not been able to find the WD they're in. The guy had made his army to look like a US airborne army (think Huey Helicopters in Vietnam). He'd stretched the middle part of the landspeeder so it had the drivers cab, passenger compartment then the engines at the back. So the bit where the guy is standing in the back of my Attack Buggy has been stretched to fit ten men- He had command flyers that had been stretched to fit five men. And if I remember correctly he'd stretched one and mounted a eathshaker cannon to it(counts as basalisk).

As far as rules are concerned, does anyone know if you could have an allied landspeeder squadron, and just have them as jeeps? cus id love to convert them for sentinels, but only moving 6 inches doesnt seem right for a jeep.

,aybe adding tracks instead of weels will help with the fluff...saying that it has to move slow to maintain accuracy or sumthn like that
