hey guys, just going through the process of creating 3 sniper/spotter teams, and am trying to make some spotting scopes mounted on tripods. for the tripods im using the missile launcher stands from the cadian hw sprue, just shortening them and adding an extra leg. but im struggling with the actual spotting scope, i initially attempted to use the laser or targeter thingy of the hw sprue, but to my dismay it is just too small. so i need some suggestions for either converting a scope, finding a scope, or hell...even making a scope, keeping in mind i need 2-3 of em. thanks in advance all.

yep that'd be the easiest thing. you could glue the monocular bit from the hvy weapon crew sprues on top of the binoculars to make it like a 3 lensed scope type thing.

Why not using SM scopes you have with boltguns?? You can also cut Scout scopes you have on bolt pistols. hope that will help

If you do a lot of converting. i always like to add a little sumthin to each of my models to make em just that bit more special. anyway if you do alot of converting go to a hobby store and they sell all different sized and shaped plastic pieces for modeling. i have a whole bunch of different guages of solid tubing that u could do anything with for scope type things. check it out at a hobby store!

The SM bolter scope would be perfect, go with that if you have some spare

Just a wierd idea, but bare with me if you havent done the converting already. You could chop the stock, barrel and strigger of the lasgun, so its like just the main barrel bit, so the spotter would look through the little sight at the top, but the scope would have a wider sight through where the barrel had been, solving the problem of being to small. What do think, possible?

or u can make it the old fashioned way like in the movie 'sniper 2' where the spotter only uses his binoculars to determine wind speed range and stuff...but i guess ure idea of a spotter is way better than my idea....cant wait to see em!

I like aspers idea, but I was thinking maybe if you used a telescopic sight from the fantasy range and stuck it on a mortar stand? I dunno...

what sight is that commissar, sounds like its probably from a dwarf thing, but i never noticed an actual gun sight, which would be cool.

I think I've seen one of them in a brettonian set, not sure. I got the dwarf miners in a grab bag and it had a stand for something...

I dont know if it could work... I always kind of thought that the spotters would just have improved binoculars and maybe a folding parascope or something.

Makes sense, but they could always huave specialist equipment, or less technical/more bulky kit. you never know with guard
