So, a few of you might remember I was trying to start up a new army for fantasy, and I was debating between starting either Empire or Bretonians and running nothing but knights. However, before this plan was able to be completed, I found out my best friend hates elves. So, naturally, I went ahead and bought an Elf army. And, since I love the Darkblade stories, and my friend runs lots of Cold Ones in his Lizardmen army, I decieded on running Dark Elves!
Now however, I have run into a brick wall. I can't seem to decide where to go with my army. What I have is very little, but still, I have no idea what direction I'm going for. And what with the newest edition of Fantasy, I have no idea where the DE's strengths lie.
This is my current army...:
Five Cold One Knights One Cold One Chariot Four Dark Elf Assassins Lokhir Fellheart Malus Darkblade Sorceress 30 Spearmen 20 Crossbowmen An amazing Dreadlord And a random Witch Elf! Woot!
Anyways, I personally am looking for a mostly mounted force, but I'm not sure if I want a Knight force, or a more fast light calvary force made up of Dark Riders and Chariots. I defiently am going to get Malekith, and I'm going to convert a high elf dragon for the Lord. But thats as far as I've got. So, any suggestions are welcome!
And, Makarova, I really would love your opinion. You helped me when I was thinking about starting a new army, and I'd love to know what you think about this.

You wont get Malekith on a Dragon in at 2000pts.... Infact, it's gonna be a struggle to get a Highborn on a Dragon in.
An all mounted force wont work in 8th edition.
You're gonna want to bump that unit of Spearmen up to 40-50 Elves. Probably with decent sized units of Executioners and Corsairs to back them up. Units of 20 Crossbows would be pretty deadly.
Plenty of Sorcerers to.

You simply wont kill enough of the enemy to break the big infantry units you'll be seeing. Steadfast rules, the prominance of BSB and the like have made infantry hard to break.

You see elite cavalry forces don't make as much money for GW so they've made the focus of the game about massive blocks of infantry.

At least they're thinking economically, it was a while since.
