Dusted off my Eldar for the first time in 5th edition last night As I was watching them getting eaten by genestealers I noticed the rule in the 5th edition rule book that says Eldar bikes get a move in the assault phase,
So I can move with them, shoot, then in the assualt phase, run away?
That could have kept eh whole genestealer tragedy from happening as even though there were 7 shuirken catapults and 2 shuriken cannons unloading on them, only 1 of them fell over...... Gotta remember to tell the guys in the factory to SHARPEN the shurikens before putting them in the relaod canisters....

Yes, Eldar (and, by extension, Dark Eldar) jetbikes can move in much the same way as Tau battlesuits, except that we move faster in the Movement phase. You should have seen the look on my Tau opponent's face when I gave him a dose of his own hide-and-seek medicine with a squadron of Reaver jetbikes that had easy access to a portion of his firebase that he thought was safe.

Something interesting I've noticed about the Reavers..
when they turbo boost the codex says they get a +4 inv save
not a +3 cover save as the rulebook states in its entry for turbo boosting.
Which means they would still get to save against hydras and other weapons that ignore cover.

Eh i know i shouldn't but i hate hydras even though they're not out yet. Tau skimmer still use disruption pods, space marine and shining spears have a +3 armor save anyway, ork bikers have +4 cover saves from smoke screens, and there's just so much crap that takes a cover save from a reason other than going flat out and yes it annoys the ever loving crap out of me. May as well just use heavy weapons teams or meltagun vets with 'fire on my target' against them.
Btw i'm kind of interested in shining spears but not sure if i'd want em once i go for an eldar army. I'm also not sure how long before i get an eldar army.
