I was cleaning out my basement the other day and found 2 small green jeeps that look like they are from ww2. I thought hey, these are the same scale, they could be sentinels! So, I took them and added a guardsman driving it, a guardsman operating a vox-caster thats attached to the jeep and another guardsman manning an autocannon thats fixed to the jeep. I'll post picks when I get a digital camera, but what do you guys think? I made two by the way. They seem to look pretty cool...

sounds like a good idea, i would like to see how it turns out. I was thinking along similar lines today, for my ww2 german inspired guard, but using motorbikes and sidecars instead for sentinels

I think jeeps to represent sentinals is a good idea in general.. the stilt walkers remind me of AT-STs instead of something from the GW universe.. plus if you did up biker rough riders then you could have one kick arse army there mate..
Post pics when you get the chance Gris

Yeah! Mine are nearly done now, they look fantastic, and I cant wait to start painting. The bikes I'm planning on making will be difficult though. I was even thinking of making my rough riders on bicycles, just for a little joke. The dirt bikes on the website look fantastic but I couldnt possibly round up the parts for a decent price.

My army is based off of world war 2 soviets, eerm, atleast I am trying to make them look like them, they kind of come off looking like the soviet navy. I'll definitely post pics too, my parents are getting a camera soon!

The soviets had a interesting jeep whose nameI can't remember (haven't played sudden strike in a while) with a cupola mounted 12.7mm machinegun. More info will be incoming shortly

If you took some Dark Eldar Jetbikes, Some Green stuff, and some cadians, you can make some kick ass rough riders.

Yeah, the Willys Jeep! It was American, lend lease. Very cool, but a little tippy.
I've been building rough riders!!! They are cool, I used a tank drivers torso, a vox head, arms from a HW sprue, the rest was an imperial pistoler on horse, covered in like, water bottles, ammo and grenados.

No Commissar, I was actually thinking of the (thumbs through unnaturally large book) The BA64. 2 man armoured car with a 7.62mm machinegun (not 12.7mm). Check this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BA-64Actually, the little bugger looks quited like you could take the top of an armoured sentinal cockpit and build around it onto your willis jeep models. Just a thought, in keeping with your soviet theme and the fact that their are quite a few willis models around, but no BA 64s

Ah, yesh. I've seen these little buggers before. I was even thinking a BA-20 might be cool, kinda looks like an old fashioned limo.

Your dedication to the red army astounds us all. (in a good way) I just thought it might be plausible to cut off the top 2/3rd of an armoured, open toped sent and add it to a jeep chassis with a little modification. I would do it myself, but there are no 40k stockists within roughly a 1000 kilometers.

Yeah, the BA-20 looks pretty similar. Tis just the 64 looks more like a Sentinel cocpitt.

Yah, sudden strike. Finest world war two RTS around. Virtually every tank, artilery piece and infantry type in the war, all crammed into one box. Only play the original, the new ones are crap.
Make that BA 64, and I will award you with a virtual order of Lenin.
