Simple skin would be this - first layer of dwarf flesh, coat with flesh wash.

it all really depends on what kind of skin tone you are going for.. but if you stick to the flesh colors of citedal you should be fine..
For dark skin start with Dark Flesh, 50/50 Dark flesh with Tanned flesh, tanned flesh, 50/50 tanned with dwarf, then highlight with dwarf.. this will give a very dark skintone.. Ink this with flesh ink after each step but with a very watered down version of it.. it will help to keep the layers even overall.. I use it currently for my Ogres.
For lighter skintones.. I would start with Dwarf flesh, 50/50 dwarf and elf flesh, elf flesh, 50/50 elf and bleached bone, highlight with bleached bone.. again use flesh ink but only for the dwarf color stages.. after that its more about highlighting so inks will not be as needed.. but could be used if thinned with a lot of water and was used very lightly..
I dont have too many pics but if you check out the picture forums you should be able to find exampled of some of these.. I have improved my skin colors by adding more layers.. ex 75/25 dark to tan, then 50/50 then 25/75 then full tanned.. takes longer but looks great for my Ogre army..
Hope that helps..

For a very simple, effective skin tone, base with dwarf flesh, high light with elf flesh. Not very sophisticated but looks fine. I hight further with a bit of white for commisaars to give a more forbiding, pale tone.
Add 50/50 steps inbetween if you want em to look a bit more polished.

But pale commissars just dont look real enough....dwarf flesh takes it all away.

If you want some camouflaged guys, I paint the face in chaos black, the I make irregular lines on the face with camo green...paint the eyes and mouth and it is done!! Simple but only if you want your troops with camo paint on the face... Anyway, hope that helps!

LoL, I mean within reason! But yeah, the face paint can be pretty tricky and it is easy to over do it.

I've tried to add a more varied mix of skin colours. Bestial brown as a base works ok, then high lighted with Graveyard earth. Wasn't the best highlighting colour butthe only 1 I had. Most looked more Indian than African, but still looked ok, so still working on it. Going to try leaving the base black, and highlighting, hopfully that will work better.

what happened to these pics that i wanted lol but i really want to see those indians fatuous lol. ;D My camera is fried so I will need to get a new 1 before I can post pics. Also being a Brit, when I said Asian, I ment Indians (as in the country, not native american) or Pakistanis, think Bollywood, rather than Orientals (which will be my next attempts . I'm hoping to eventually have all races covered.

Take a look at the old last chancers. Some of them look native american( the guy with the 2 knives)then one looks like he is asian( the commisar looking one). As for painting flesh tones, i use tanned flesh as a base, then i dry brush on bronzed. Then i wash the face lightly with flesh wash.I might touch it up with elf flesh in places too, it all depends on the look i want.I painted a force of catachans before. It's alot of flesh to work with so if i were you don't worry about the flesh too much. You will get better with it as you do more and more and more of them.Just keep experimenting and find out what works well with you. OH also, try thinning down your paints abit.Straight from the pot they are abit thick.Add some waterto them and keep you brush clean and abit wet too. That helps.
