I am struggling to decide on a paint scheme for my new IG army any one able to help? My army is fighting on a snowy world amid great loyal, proud, politically mined cities. They are bold and brave, will fight to the last and use stealthy tactics to complete mission objectives. But now sit pondering what uniform to choose. The scheme needs to suit some of the above information, Can anyone help?

I would recommend maybe a dark grey and maybe an dark sort of off-white color, something like bleached bone, but with a tad of codex grey slapped in it. what kind of models are you using for your army? More than likely cadians, but i wanted to be sure since some people have vostroyans or catachans or some such.

I have a friend that also have a Guard army and I think his colour scheme would fit your description of the army. He use the Grenadier doctrine and Veterans enabling him to have a lot of specialist squads and he fancies his army as a City Fighting one Here is how his paintscheme looks like: Now you could add patches of snow by using PVA glue and baking soda and youre done.

Your welcome His Deathkorps of Krieg Scheme is quite difficult so I would go for the stormtrooper Sgts colorscheme and add patches of snow to the base.

I use the 122. Cadian "Battle for Vogen" scheme. It's pretty easy to paint, even if it looks difficult to paint the camo at the beginning.

my colour scheme is sort of urban winter, i do shadow grey clothes, black armour and black gun, and shadow grey helmet, with stripes of white, my first ones had heaps of stripes but now i find that the white doesnt look very good so ive restricted to only having about 1-2 stripes of white now.
you could use my scheme or adapt it, mine was adapted from the "battle for vogen" thing i think, minus the black stripes and good paint job XD

if you want to do quick, good effect looking camo, sponge it, get a sponge, dip the corner or flat surface in paint and sponge it on in random places, it looks good and provides a more random effect.

That sponge idea sounds interesting, I will try it out on some troops after I've painted my new Eldar units.

I have used the sponging effect on tanks where it looks great but never on guardsmen .It seems to me they are too small and a sponge too big but i guess you could use a small sponge and try not to touch it too hard onto the model.Sponges have a tendency to soak up alot of paint and then drop alot of it onto what you touch.I think that a sponge type of cammo would look pretty cool though, kind of like the new style of cammo the american army is using.
