Iam in the middle of actulay converting the SMURFY's scouts with snipers into 6 IG snipers and I must say I like how they look so I dug threw my old smurfy bit boxs and found about 3 SM bodys that surprisingley are very esay to convert to attach to a pair of guards men legs if any one wants pics of the models before painting just ask they look great

cool, i always thought the smurf snipers/scouts could be used as cadian snipers, and yeah it would be nice to see them before they are painted if thats not to much trouble.

could work, the smurfs are on the same size scale as cadians (although cadians shuld be smaller) tho they would have beefy man-chests

They are slightly smaller than their SM counterparts. But remember we are talking about scouts and the Cadian snipers with the ghillie cape are not much smaller than the scout with the cape. The cape hides the fact that they are not really wearing the scout armor which is not much more than carapace armor anyway.

I have converted a regualr cadian with a las rifle to a sniper.I used the heavy weapon kneeling legs, a pin to lengthen out the barrell, and actual cloth to model the cape.It looks pretty good so far.I have a paper punch tat punches out oak leaves that i have in the right colors and i put them on the cloth.I think that it would look good as a SM sniper or a IG sniper.Hope that helps =)

Yea, i have tried to use other things for modeling putty but it doesn't work well.I tried using sheetrock spackeling one time... works great on the base if you want ot make mud or something likethat but thats about it.

I ended up using smoke grenades as scopes (which suprisingly worked lol), and I think it was part of a vox or improved comms antenna to extend the barrels, the kneeling ones look cool, but the normal cadian legs work fine too. I do like the thin wire mesh idea on the GW site that look like gilli suites so I might add some eventually. but cadians with converted lasguns work fine. EDIT: In fact here is a good example , the sight from the mortar looks really cool as a scope too.

when i first started playing i had the 3 catachan snipers in metal. The one that is kneeling i cut up an old rug that was in browns and weird greens( kind of 70's art deco type of colors i guess) and glued it to him.It looks pretty good as a guilley suit, especially for my first try hehe.

Nice conversions mate! You used some scouts snipers I can see!! It is a good try to use them especially if you take carapace armour... Love to see them painted!
