So I played an 1850 game against a friend who was fielding Sisters of Battle from the Witchhunters codex, and decided to use a list type I'd never used before. My list was:
Unit
-Wargear
Company Command Squad 315
-Lord Castellan Creed
-Colour Sergeant Kell
-Voxcaster
-Master of the Fleet
-Chimera w/ Multi-laser and heavy bolter
Vet Squad 2 105
-3x Melta Gun
-7x Shotguns
-Voxcaster
Platoon Command Squad 30
Infantry Squad 85
-Commissar
Infantry Squad 50
Infantry Squad 50
HW Squad 105
-3x Lascannons
HW Squad 105
-3x Lascannons
Platoon Command Squad 30
Infantry Squad 85
-Commissar
Infantry Squad 50
Infantry Squad 50
HW Squad 105
-3x Lascannons
HW Squad 105
-3x Lascannons
Vendetta 130
Leman Russ MBT 150
Leman Russ MBT 150
Leman Russ MBT 150
1850
His army consisted of 10 Seraphim (jump troops), 10 Devastator-types with 4 heavy bolters, 5 stormtrooper equivalents with a plasma gun, an Excorist missile launcher, and 4-5 tactical squads, with either flamers or meltas, the last 5 all in rhinos.
We rolled for missions and Annihilation, which was good, but then rolled Dawn of War for deployment. That really screwed up my lascannon teams, as I deployed two of them, but the other two couldn't fire on their first turn (not that they could see anything with that stupid night-fighting rule).
The game ended up being a massacre (in a good way), with my vendetta and vets taking out a couple rhinos, and my lascannon teams and Leman Russes stunning and immobilizing the rhinos, destroying the missile launcher, and wiping out two of his squads. This was all by turn two. After that it was just a matter of concentrating fire on individual squads until they died. All in all I lost 3 lascannon teams, plus the vendetta and melta vets (and I probably wouldn't have lost the vendetta if I'd remembered to move it). The best moment of the game might have been the look on his face when my 30 man blob squad with commissar used "For the Honour of Cadia!" and attacked his T3/I3 sisters at S4/I4, and obliterated them.
Based on my action report and my list, I was wondering how people think I might fare against normal space marines or something with a lot of MCs, like Tyranids. The "Bring it Down" order on my lascannon teams, all of which can get it at ld10 if they're within 24 inches of my CCS, would probably do a decent amount of damage. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!
