Catachan Stormtroopers

I am converting some catachan into stormtroopers (cadian arms, green stuff armor)

Might post pic if i find camera.

But any points I could use? the bitz i have are catachans, and some cadien arms/heads. plus green stuf and the odd space marine stuff.(and could possibly use bits from an elder guardian set)

I'm thinking of using catachan Vox's with wire cut off to give them backpacks.

now this sounds interesting! Quite a coincidence (well almost) since I just finished making my 20 catachans into hardened veterans giving them some additional weaponry like plasmaguns etc.

Well if you have a spare catachan head and a spare empty cadian helmet you may try how they fit together with some sculpting/cutting, i toyed with the idea myself but never choose the helmet since my guys dont wear any armour, but if you are going to model carapace armour you could try fitting a few helmets on their catachan heads.

I think you could make backpacks from forming greenstuff into a small square and use a knive to carve out the details of the backpack, worth a try.

I have actually thought about converting Catachan storm troopers for a while. A way to go which would keep them nice and Catachan-ish but also give them the look of carapace armoured storm troopers would be to use Catachan heads and arms, Cadian torsos and Space Marine Scout sniper legs. You could make Hellguns by converting lasguns.

I'll be back with some details on this later.

that sounds pretty cool Bobahat.I have thought about using S.M. scouts as stormies in the past and now that you can get them out of plastic it would be an easy swap to change the heads and weapons.Too bad you can't get the scouts in plastic with shotguns...

How should i make the lasguns look less lasgun more hellgun??? So far they look good, but not particularly storm troopery.

Maybe you could cut down the barrel so that it is much shorter to give it an assault SMG look. Then get rid of the lasgun ammo-casing and drill a hole. Add some guitar string and attach it to a backback. Voila! A Catachan hellgun.

I know I will be using the plastic Scout legs for an upcoming Imperial Guard project. Haven't quite decided on them yet.

well what i have done in cut the ends of a nade laucher, and stuck em on like a drum ammo thingy. Then made then more carbine like at the front.
