Hey everyone, I figured I might as well start off my career here with an instant question: How can I fix a Cadian arm with GS when I cut off the shoulder pad? It's necessary for a conversion I'm working on. Since the illustrious Bobahat pointed me here, I thought I'd give it a try. So hi, and please help meeeeee!

Sry, can u give us a little more info on what u are doing. Personally If I didn't want shoulder pads I'd use catachan arms (may not be viable cost wise for u), or some of the tank commander arms that don't have shoulder pads (again if you have some).
Are u shaving off the shoulder pad, or cutting the rest of the arm off, and making the upper shoulder out of GS?

Alright, here's idea.
I am trying to create the Jumael IV Lucky Aces, check Boba's thread for details. The thing is, I don't want to use bare arms from Catachans, since they don't fit the theme. Unless you can come up with a reasonable way to turn Catachan bare arms into sleeved arms, I'll have to stick with Cadian arms.
Thinking about it, I would like it if someone could find a way to do the above, since I DO have Catachan arms galore.

Very simply and I haven't tried this so it may look aweful. As the arms mostly have watches or gauntlets of some type, you could try just painting the fleshy arms in a colour.
Or trim some of the muscles from the arms, then paint them as if they are covered in cloth, might work, but has the potential to look really bad.
Using a thin sausage of GS, u can make rolled up sleaves quite easily, which look good.
If you have spare tank bits, u prob have some with out shoulder pads anyway.
If you go the removing shoulder pad option, I think you will find it easier to cut the arm off completely, rather than shaving and moulding the shoulder pad. Then use GS to build up the shoulder. Either make them off the body, wait to dry and then glue on with super glue, or ideally, use the GS to attached the arm to the torso.

I just filed down the shoulder pads on some of my conversions and there wasn't much work with GS needed. Just take one of the tank commander arms as sample. You should only need to use loads of GS if you have cut/filed away too much of the shoulder

I glue the arm to the body then carve the shoulder pad off with a knife.

Looks like Woz beat me to it. This is exactly the way to go. Nice pics there Woz! Fixing with green stuff is hiding the 'carved' bits that the knife makes. Make some creases and stuff to make the sleeve look more natural after getting rid of the shoulder pad. Welcome to the sight Syphon buddy!

Don't you mean site, crazy ol' Bobafriend? Or am I in someone's sights, literally? >.> Okay, I have assembled two test models, undercoated them and painted the majority of their clothes Catachan Green. Anybody have hints for painting? Highlights, ink washes, etc?
