Some of you might be familiar with the House Lannister from the series A Song of Fire and Ice by George R.R. Martn. I've recently come across older plans to make a Lannister themed army for WH40K and I plan to make it work. No more Jumael, no more snow world, just Lannister. You see, the old Empire shields (with lionheads) for their spearmen fit the Lannisters just right. I figured, why convert when I can use something that already exists? Here's the clue, however. I fear I might get bored before it starts off. How do you suggest I make it less boring?
That being said, what Citadel colour comes closest to crimson?

uhh sorry mate I have never heard of this but what citadel color comes close to crimson well maybe blazing orange or macharius solar orange, or maybe mix them both together, or either of them with a red colour or both of them with a red color lol, try it out and see what is best for you.

Crimson is afaik a dark red fish and no orange So I'd try Red Gore or Mechrite Red for that.

A Lannister man!? *shakes fist furiously*
Well, if you've decided on traveling the path of betrayal, cowardice and arrogance, then I guess you'd be best off going with Mechrite Red, with maybe a layer of Gore Red. That'll give you a pretty strong crimson colour. Shining Gold would probably be your best bet for the Lannister gold.
Of course, a real man would wear the Black and Red of the Targaryens.
Blood and Fire!

I'd rock out the blood red and put 1 drop of black in it. black tends to have a dramatic effect so make sure you just hit it with 1 drop and stir that up and see how it looks before deciding on whether another drop is waranted or not. ultimately crimson is just red with black in it.
you might try the 'khador red' from the privateer press line, I actually like that better than blood red - it's got better coverage and is smoother - feels thinner but has better coverage somehow. it doesn't obscure details as easily due to the thin-ness. it's really nice paint and a great shade of bright red. definately a good base for any shade of red you're planning on working with.
