So yet another GG has been and gone, and our champion has been chosen (at least they will be tonight).
As I am away this weekend, I am opening GG MkIII before I go! Christmas is quickly approaching, snow has been mentioned in the national papers (at least it has here in the UK) and Im feeling more than festive, so the next GG will reflect this!
Entitled 'Winter Wonderland', this competition is open to ALL models. Thats right, anything!
So all those that have been clamouring for Xenos, Tanks etc now is your time to shine!
The only constriction is that it should have a winter/christmas theme. This can be reflected by conversion work (Ork Battlewagon Santa's Sled, Imperial Servitor Toy Workshop etc) paint schemes (wintery/cold themes) or by basing (ice terrain).
Obviously submitting an entire army would be a bit silly, so codex unit/squadron size will used to limit this.
Base size is also something to consider, and perhaps adding a display base will add to your entry (super heavies?)
The models submitted can be converted, re-posed, whatever you fancy, although it must all be done by YOU.
Any race from any system can be used so if you fancy snowy Skaven or frozen Tau (they fit right in on the fish counter ), go for it!
Entries will consist of a Final Finished Product photo, and up to 3 WIP photos. At least 1 WIP must be provided, to show that it was your own work!
If you would like pics cropping etc then I can do that for you, providing the quality is acceptable (see further down).
You should now be aware of these requirements, anyone submitting without taking notice of this won't have their entries included in the voting thread.
I was very lenient with it last time round, which was well responded by members adding 'it was a shame WIP's weren't included'. Perr moderation is a wonderful thing!
Please also provide good quality photos where possible. Borrow a digi cam if you must, as some mobile phone pics do not look as good as they should. You want to do your painting justice!
All entries must be submitted to myself via PM by December 22nd at 24:00 GMT, and as with last time a separate voting thread will be created. That is just under 4 weeks, as I will be travelling after then to visit the Northern Wastes and the various tribes that make up my family!
When the voting thread is created, I will also put up the next competition's title, as the xmas holidays would be a good chance to get a bit of brandy-fuelled painting in, at least for me anyway!
The winner will recieve praise, glory, and a no-expense-spared sig banner (provided by Ymott Industries of course) to proclaim how awesome they are. Maybe some cool stuff too, depending on what I/anybody else is willing to donate.
As with last time, this is all in the name of fun, and improving our painting skills, so please submit a model, especially if you voted in the last competition!
And please be as creative as possible! If you need inspiration (or a 'levels of crazyness' check) look at the previous voting threads.
Good luck guys, I'm expecting crazy and amazing things!
For inspiration on basing, painting etc have a look around on this site and on the main GW site, if i remember correctly they did do some frosty looking terrain etc for the Space Pups release, which might get you thinking.
