Wow, I've never seen someone do stained glass on 40k terrain before - really adds that extra touch of realism to it ;D Have you considering knocking out a pane or two at the top of the windows? The damage you've done at the bottom looks ace, but just kinda peters out. Big fan of the silvery detailing!

There may be some more battle damage/smashed windows added shortly... just wanted to get the basics in first... Now I just have to locate the stuff I wanted to use on the paved area outside...

Little update - the Shrine now has a base... Granted the base needs finishing (grass here and there, curb-stones, etc) but it's moving along And a more acute angle to show the paving a bit better (hopefully...) Next step: weathering the base? rubble inside the Shrine? not sure yet, but there will be pictures

Lots of work to do to finish it off yet though... details... they always take the longest!
I've also sneakily bought myself another stormtrooper squad for Inquisitor Gaine, so I'll probably be working on that first... and then there's the rest of the infantry to paint...

That's a really nice sombre verdigris effect you've acheived Trooper... makes me want to revisit mine...

Thanks, Lupus and cosmiccastaway! Here's the recipe: Prime black Apply two coats of Dwarf Bronze to get even coverage Wash twice with very heavy coats of Thraka Green Wash once with a fairly heavy coat of Badab Black I did all of the paint and wash applications with a base coat brush.

Oh a lot simpler than I thought. I was expecting wash after wash of wash! Nicely done

Yeah, I'm amazed at how simple it was to pull off. It was extremely straightforward and quick to do. The only fiddly bit was getting an even coat of the bronze onto the ruffled feathery things on the cloak. I base coated the model last night, and did the washes this morning.

I just finished painting the ruined Aquila part of the set. I used the same metal effect on the ruin that I did for the Space Marine statue. I won't be able to get pics up for the next few days--it's night now, I'm off for gaming all day Saturday, and then it's supposed to snow here on Sunday, so it won't be until sometime next week that I'll be able to take photos...
