I think the bikes would be cooler, but alot more expensive to produce...try the lizards if your on a budget, otherwise I'd say go for the bikes!

The bikes are cool, but the wheels look a little small. I have always liked the SM bikes, they look cool, they'd be easy to mount guardsmen on and are cheaper than making your own bikes. They are definately worth concidering. Good luck with your rough riders anyway.

OMG! Hoverbikes! That would be so cool you would just have to put frilly pink streamers on them to mock the eldar! Or something...lol... Umm, space marine bikes may be a tad too large...wait... What about bicycles? Just regular old bikes? Or better yet, bycintenials! LoL, do it!!!

The SM bikes aren't too big, what models do you use? Cadians?

They are a touch too big for cadians, just a touch. But bikes can be made by using wires of all sorts, try models too, they work well.

It is interesting that you mention IG hover bikes. I am currently working on a squad of 3 hover bikes.
I apologize beforehand if some of what I say does not make sense. Just ask for clarification.
The basic components that I have used are the basic frame of the dark eldar reaver jetbike (by basic frame i mean just the basic body). On my model I have switched the front end with the back end( where the engine on the RJ would be is the front of my bike. I have added a pair of tau gun drone guns to either side of the rear part of my bike. In the hollow of the front part you can add any bitz that looks appropriate. I added a dual bladed attachment from the RJ sprue to form the bottom of the bike, with the blades facing forward. The rider is made up of the legs of a EJ rider, and the torso, and arms of a Eldar tank turret gunner. I find there is a small gap between the main body of the bike and the arms, I used a scrap piece of bitz in between them.

Soberity is for the weak!! Besides, lizards are actual cavalry, wheras bikes just don't fit the cavalry movement. And theres nothing more amusing than the sight of 1 ton of pissed-off lizard smashing into any terminator squad sufficently stupid to try a solo assault. Mwhahahahaha!

they're cold ones.
There is two versions. The dark elf ones are fat He used the lizardmen ones. They can be ordered as bitz you don't have to buy the cavalry box. You can also use scout biker legs, I've heard they work pretty well.
