So I've been staring at my Terrax guard for about a year now since my go at repainting them. (During the paintoff 06') I am noticing more and more now then ever that they don't have enough Commissar-ish feel to them. I propose green stuffing a unit of ten to see how it would look. I will add cloaks to the infantry and a peaked hat to the officer. and maybe some more carapace to the elbows and knees. If anyone has some ideas for how I should go about this please post them. I start Tomorrow. Wish me Luck.

I have only found 1 picture ever showing a Terrax uniformed guard. I think it does the codex picture justice.

Cool, it's worth buying the imperial guard collectors book if you don't have it already. There is an example of a painted Terrax guardsman in there.

Sorry, my bad. It's a typo, I've changed it now. I meant IG collector's range book.

Hawkrin, you have HUGE cojones for taking this on. I don't believe there is actually a Terrax guard army in existance (much like the Salavar chem-dogs). Its just a bit off (very cool) fluff put out by GW.
Seriously, if anyone has any pics of the chem dogs I would love to see them

I believe with your support I can pull it off. I don't think a guard army should go without conversion on some scale I am just doing it on a larger scale then most people.
I am entered in the second paint off if you all wish to follow my progress.

Yeah, all IG armies need some conversions.
Sweet, will you post progress?

dude that sergeant is pimp. if you want some peaked cap heads pm me with your address and I'll scavenge up some off my tank accessory sprues for you dude. you should do them all with peaked caps, seriously - otherwise they (sorry but...) look like cadians with greenstuffed coats. the caps give them such huge identity!
anyhow yeah, I know you've got a rough road with this army and just having to make your own path, but this is looking great so far. I'll be happy to see your progress in the winter paintoff and look forward to seeing squads of these dudes come alive! I know that's a gut churning thing to think about, but once you get assembly lining the coats down, you'll have a far easier time of making this army.

Ah Tboy you have always been a star of hope and encouragement to all the things I do. I agree about the peaked hats from the tank spruce, I will pm you my address and we can talk about what to trade.
