Hey guys! I'm new to this forum, I'm Adam, nice to meet you! Anyway, all of my friends are doing some really badass conversions for their Eldar, Kroot, and Tau and I had an idea for a conversion but I'm needing some advice on how to make it all come together. The idea is that using spare parts here and there, turn one of the Imperial Guard characters, preferably a Cadian Sargeant or a Lieutenant, and turn them into the Guardsman Character from the PC game Dark Crusade, Governer-Militant Lukas Alexander. I've already got some cloak ideas thought up and I have an eye sensor idea, but I need ideas on how to do things like his sash, armored boots and powerclaws/powerfists. Any suggestions?

Well most IG commanders have lots of medals, special dress uniforms etc. You might have trouble converting a guardsman or a lieutenant. If your looking at something similar to the Dawn of War commanders i think the best model is one of the commissars, they have lots of medals, unique uniforms and while the weapons are quite outdated (hand flamers on some) you can easily convert them. Censor eyes and sashes sound good, the only hard part is the cloak. Unless you are an expierenced modeller cloaks are very hard to do. A good idea is to check out Turtleboys workshop on how to make cloaks, its dead usefull. Welcome to the forum by the way.

welcome aboard neloangelo sashes are pretty easily done with greenstuff or there's a commissar or two with sashes if you have a bonesaw to cut him apart with. armored boots I'd go with the cadians as they have the armored shinguards - maybe a death korps grenadier model for an alternate style if you can find just one grenadier on ebay or something. as far as powerfists, there's a great upheld right hand powerfist in the cadian officer blister line - you can easily cut his arm off at the shoulders and you get the whole arm rig, with supporting braces at the elbow joint and up to the shoulder. it's a nice bit - again you'll want a bonesaw for cutting pewter. powerCLAW would ofcourse be the yarrick model or perhaps look at some of the old orky goodness (I'm sure there's plenty on ebay seeing as orks are about to get a much needed face lift). good luck!
