Thanks! Its whatever you want it to be... a map, order recieved (so your vox operator or Commander has it in his hands), a bandage. For me, its a map.
Just draw really thin lines in a grid pattern in brown, and black curved lines to show "topography". Then add colored dots for objectives, cities, enemy or allied forces, etc.
Easy!

Loving the work on the stands. Really adds to the camo + concealment theme!

Success! I was able to obtain a 'Mad' Larkin figure this week (Thank you, Jerbat123 of Imperial Message Board!), and got him outfitted in his ghillie cloak, painted, and based in a matter of two days. Here is #9 of my Scout / Sniper Cadre. For my final Sniper, I plan to model another spotter figure, but he will be laying down. It will be a challenge, but I know I can do it. I added knee pads, shinguards, a baffle, and added to the scope. The one fault I have with the Larkin model was that his scope was kinda dinky. How does he aim? I had part of a sniper rifle from the command sprue that I had chopped up when I made my Marbo, and it worked perfectly.

I am happy to announce that the roster of my Scout/Sniper Cadre has been filled, and I now have 10 "count-as" Ratling snipers, should I ever have the need. Its been an adventure, and I like to think that I have stretched myself a bit with the medical gauze "sculpting". The final Scout / Sniper, doing a bit of spotting for his team. And of course, the obligatory group shot. I'll post some action shots of this unit when the opportunity arises. Comments are always welcomed, and encouraged. If you see any ideas here that you would like to replicate, feel free. I would be honored by that.

Wow, this is a very nice looking unit! Just out of interest, which legs did you use for your spotter?

I used the legs from the command sprue, with the great coat. I had to shave the back in order to make it look more flat, then cut off the feet and repositioned them to look more natural under his ghillie cloak. I am not happy with the right foot, I could have placed it lower down. If I hadn't ending up pinning the feet, I'd try to reposition it again. Here is all 10 in some ruins in a swampy area. And in this picture, I have 6 of the Cadre holed up inside a ruined house. Thank you for the comments so far!

I had a couple requests for pictures in my tutorial thread, so I thought I'd bump this with another picture. I got two more snipers in a trade, both Catachan. One is plastic, the other is same as one I already have. Here's the plastic one, with a ghillie cloak. I just realized he still needs knee pads, but that's an easy fix with green or grey stuff.
