I started with an ogre kingdoms bull.
I filled the cavity for the gut-plate with green stuff and turned it into a belt and buckle, added cargo pockets on the pants, a helmet, belt pouch, canteen, ammo belt all made from greenstuff.
The armor is made from plasticard.
I just trimmed down the pointy boots that come with the ogre bull.
I cut the ogre bull shouting hand off its normal arm and stuck it one of the other ogre bull left arms to hold the ammo belt.
I greenstuffed a handle onto a IG heavy bolter and added to one of the standard ogre bull right arms.
The barb wire is twisted floral wire.

Wow... impressive conversion AND painting. Well done, indeed! Your Ogryn is the cloth I hope to cut mine from, when the time (and money) is right.

Nice job overall, but don't you think the Heavybolter seems a bit.. ehm.. front heavy, it is kind of on a wierd offset..? Other than that it looks nice..

I think his ridiculously huge muscles would compensate for the weight of the heavy bolter. I think its a very good conversion. Would love to see a whole squad.

I've got to admit that that's a pretty sweet conversion! Also, the heavy bolter as a Ripper gun works really well. I'm looking forward to seeing an entire squad of these brutes painted up!

Yeah, the heavy bolter does look like it would be front heavy, but, like Paradill said, look at how disproportionally huge the arm muscles are on the guy -- I think it looks like it would be heavy, but doable for an ogryn. I doubt he would be very accurate with it, but I don't think ogryns are reknowned for their accuracy. ;D

Though I have similar concerns over the front heaviness of the heavy bolter, I have to say that that is the best Ogre to Ogryn conversion I've seen to date... so it is possible... hmmm...

I concur with Gabriel. There are a lot of this conversions in the net, but they all look like what they are: Fantasy Ogres with heavy weapons in their hands. The armour, the helmet and, especially, the trousers pockets you modelled on the Ogre really do the trick. The only thing that reminds on the Ogres is the beard. Not that it spoils the look, but maybe you should trim it a little down on the next one (never was a fan of that molgolian style beard on the ogres, so maybe I am a little unobjective here ) Nice work! -Magg

Though I have similar concerns over the front heaviness of the heavy bolter... I figure if Harker can handle it, so can this guy -- he's a lot bigger!

My next ogryn conversion will be dual-wielding some custom ripper guns:

No that's fine - it's your model, and obviously you've considered it. But most of all, you like it, and it's a really good conversion My only suggestion would have been to have the hand hold a grip and trigger somewhere along the back of the Heavy Bolter (making the Ogryns elbow somewhere around the back of the top of the Bolter). Similar to how Terminators hold a Heavy Flamer. But this is certainly not a criticism of your fine work... and the proposed dual wielded ripper guns (pistols?) sounds intriguing...

Really good work!

The ripper guns look nice. They are made out of Ork shootas right? The size of the hands are spot on for ogres, what a nice coincidence Great job again! -Magg

They are made from orc shootas and the hand size is perfect. Gabriel Lupus Lupus: I had my box of bulls sitting around collecting dust. I bought them when OK launched and never did anything with them, so I figured what the heck, why not make them into some ogryns? The only problem with buying a box is that the arm poses are somewhat limited. I've been watching some of the bitz stores online for some leadbelcher arms to mix things up a bit, but no luck so far. @trooper: By your command! I'm planning to do at least one more ogryn to fill out a minimum size squad. I might do two more if I can get my hands on some leadbelcher arms. 5 is the limit -- the dog ate one of my bulls and I only had 5 left. I'm thinking of modeling the next with a boonie hat if I can pull it off with the GS.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. I'm still watching the bitz websites for some leadbelcher arms to use for my third ogryn conversion. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any in stock.
Anyone have any they are willing to trade?
