Hey, I'm new with message boards, and I'm just starting an IG army, and I'm expressing interests in conversions for my new army. Is it possible for any of my elites to be armed with a storm bolter? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

hmm I do not believ so.....*checks codex......veteran Sgt's can for vet squads.....ogryns cannot......stormies cannot.....ratlings cannot....i think techpriests can......so ya there you go.

anyone who has access to the armoury can. vet sgts, officers, etc.

The Veterans in your command squad (like the medic standard bearer or just regular veteran in command squads) can have them. Your Commissars and officers can have them, you can acctually field a few in your army  My advice is to get the armybuilding tool for PC "Armies of the Imperium" & "Enemies of the Imperium", it's much easier to keep track of all valid choices that way. |

My advice is to get the armybuilding tool for PC "Armies of the Imperium" & "Enemies of the Imperium", it's much easier to keep track of all valid choices that way. Where can I get those? |

Here is the hompepage where you can get the much needed updates that come along with every new codex release. I think it's possible to get the full software for both versions (enemies/armies of the imperium) there aswell, I got mine from a friend and then updated it through that site. ial.games-workshop.com/default.htm |

Well,I got armies of the imperium and It needs an update! Really old stuff in der. I would suggest army builder. 30 bucks gets you basically every mini game ever made and everything. just google army builder if you wanna see more or your local hobby shop might sell it.

The imperial terminators have some really nice storm bolters, they are pretty expensive though.......... ask some friends or some guys at your local hobby centre if they have some spare. It' worth a try.

Oh god, I gave 3 of my vets in my command squad storm bolters!
The pintle mounts with the small box mag. it looks good, like they have super arse kickin machine guns!

Hang on one sec, just for clarification, is a storm bolter the wrist mounted gun like on Terminators and Grey Knights?

Stormbolters come in at least 3 models, the wristmounted terminator one, small handheld pistol looking like the one comissar Yarrick is wielding, and the bigger version that can be pintle mounted on Imperial vehichles. There could be more versions but those are the ones I know about.

Basic SM termies have another kinda thats hand held slightly smaller then the pintle mount.

Ya lol. I saw a guy how basicaly took 2 boltguns and glues them together and called it a stormbolter.

Yeah I'm wanting the wrist blaster version kinda like the one used by the IG Commander in Dawn of War Dark Crusade. I'm trying to mkae him, but i really dont want to hack apart Grey Knights or Termies just to get a wrist bolter. I think I'll just make one myself....
