Rough Rider Wargear Problems

Hi everyone,

I have taken to the task of creating some Rough Riders by modifying and scaling down Space Marine bikes. Right now they are in pieces but when it came to how to arm them I am at a complete loss. I have had no previous experiece with them so I don't know if it's good to fit a special weapon in at all. The main problem is that in the IG codex they say they have a las pistol and cc weapon, but that would mean no hands to actually steer the horse or in my case drive a bike. I have made a gun shield at the front and am toying with the idea of cutting a hole and mounting the end of a las gun in it so I can have one arm driving and the other holding the an explosive lance. I am aiming at a squad of eight with a Vet Srgt armed with either a built in storm bolter and lance. Or a lance and power sword, the rest will have explosive lances and las pistol/or possibly an extra cc weapon for the extra attack. Will post pics once I have finished the bike. Apreciate all advice.

A pistol counts as a cc weapon in assualt I believe, so a lance and a pistol would count as two weapons. You dont need the cc weapon instead of the pistol to get the extra attack. I may be wrong though. Your conversion sounds good. I think mounsting a lasgun on the bike would work.

Hmm that would work pretty well.
You dont have to have em holding the CC weapon, the could have it slung on them and have em brandishing the pistol maybe?

Didn't think of that . The codex doesn't say that lances are a two handed weapon so could i give my Vet Srgt a storm bolter as well?

I'd consider arming one with a Meltagun.

It's worth the points to be able to take advantage of a target of opportunity while on your way... If you decide to do it - I've found the plastic SM Meltagun works best.
