How do you guys get the damn arms on the dudes. I have everything painted up but when I go to put the arms on nothing fits. Any advice?
This is also taking into account the arms that are right below the gun

Strange I have only had that happen once? I have always just put the arms in the socket first and moved them until they line up. Keep in mind the left arm is usually the variable so get a couple and try them out. I guess that would be a bad time to say bolters are easy to get on.

hmmmi have trouble fitting the arms...the point where the arm sort of merges with the flak armour, usually ends up a bit to the right, or somehwere else, making it look likehe dislocated his arm or what not. Other than that, im fine with arms....takes getting used too, but for me that aint a problem...when you have to do at least a hundered models.

What exactly is the issue.. aligning them together? Or the glue holding after being painted?
I haven't had too much trouble with it, but as stated already there are different left arms and most have to be used in conjunction with their respective right arm.. maybe just make sure that before you toss all the arms into a big bin that you figure out a way to organize them better.. to avoid this issue in the future.. could also use pins.. even though they are plastic the pins can be for guidance on how to get them to line up better as well..
Just my thoughts..
Cheers Gris

hmmmmm, weird there is a nother thread on this from about a year ago, but no idea where about it is.
FIrstly. What glue are u using? If you are using super glue, then stop now and start using polystyrene cement for plastic.
1stly, and I may be wrong but it almost sounds like u are painting the bodies, then adding the arms. personnally I would not do this, but it is personal preference.
Start by gluing the legs to the base, then the torso to the body. Vert quickly you will be doing this in 1 step.
Then, using no glue, position the arms and see how they fit. they should fit fine. if they are not, then u have to change 1 of the arms (I have only had this problem with nade launchers and flamers as these arms have sublte differences).
Once the positioning is ok with out glue, put a small blob of poly cement on each arm. This can be either on the torso, or on the arms. I almost always put the glue on the arms, rather than the torso. THen put a small blob of glue on the wrist supporting the lasgun, again, can be on either arm, I find that putting the glue on the arm with out the gun works best for me.
Now, with poly cement u have a minute or so before teh glue hardens. It will begin to soften up the plastic, and won't set instantly, so u should be able to manipulate the glued together pieces in to the position that you want with out any worries fothe glue drying.
Hope that helps.
Oh, for the left arms that actually have hands, this system works even better, small blob of glue in the palm of the left hand. But again, ensure that the arms fit before gluing. Think of it as a dress rehersal.

Luckily Ive only had trouble with one of the arms. The only place they would fit conflicted with the place the helmet goes. Luckily I found that clipping the end of the left arm made it so they work. I'm attaching the torso to the legs priming the legs and head separate. Priming painting then attaching. Im doing it this way so that I paint as I go along otherwise I would have just lots of unpainted minis. This way my army will be painted in time for the tournament in 2 weeks(assembling and painting 1850 of guard with 3 tanks as well as getting a list play tested is murder).

I find if stuff doesn't fit together perfectly, its OK, they're 6 pt guardsmen, no-one in their right mind inspects 60+ guardsmen for small defects. Just get the arms on and spend time worrying on fancier stuff like tanks or command squads.

File down any lumps or sprue, fit the arms to the position you like without glue and then glue it once you find a place that looks natural and normal.

If you want to paint the model before you add the arms, I have found that shaving some of the paint off of both the arm and the torso works well. This allows a good plastic meld to hold the parts together. If you glue paint to paint it will fall apart too easy.
