1500 points on the mark..
This is a no nonsens list and has won we alot of games, against wolves, DE, Eldar, BA and Nids..
When we are talking this low points level, there isn't really much need for the tricky deployment methods guard can do, so gunline deployment.
CCS, PCS and Vets are the mobile respons force that all lists need, Inf squads and PBS are there to form a cover line for the real killers; the executioner, the leman and the manticore. The lemans have camo netting for AV14 3+ cover saves, this makes people shoot at them and miss or not pen/glance = wasted shots.
Inf squads are there to do anti light armor with their AC's
PBS are there to make any un-fearless unit run off the board.
This is my Mech Infantry list, and also one of the most competitive lists i have made in the 1500 point range... Hope you guys like it..
Cheers.. Kras..

This list is designed to mess with the enemies perceptions of what's on and off the table. The Vets, Command Squad, and Russes set up on the table, with the Platoon and possibly the Sentinels in reserve. The Astropath can bring in the Platoon faster where the Heavy Flamers and squads armed with Flamers can drive enemy units across the table and into the big guns. It's a little light on AT, but the outflanking AC Sentinels can ping side armor on bigger tanks, and the Multilasers can take on lighter transports.

So here it is, my attempt at mechanised. I thought that I would stay away from the whole veteran thing and try to swarm the enemy with armour. The men are really only there as backup. I tried to keep the whole list as mobile as possible so you may notice a lack of stationary weapons. Also, I imagined that the mechanised company would need to be a long range scout force, backed up by some heavy armour incase enemy strongpoints needed to be attacked.
Company Command Squad - Plasma Pistol, 4 x Plasma Gun, Chimera: Multilaser/Heavy Flamer - 175
Platoon Command Squad - 4x Melta Gun, Chimera: Multilaser/Heavy Flamer- 125

Ok so the plan is for the Demolishers to try and provoke the big nasties that the opponent has and offer cover to the weaker chimeras. This should allow concentration of flamer, melta and plasma fire where it is needed the most to create a hole in the enemies formation. The army can then redeploy to exploit this hole of pull back as the enemy reinforces it, pulling him out of position. The fast attack units are meant to harrass transports and isolated infantry.
Anti-tank fire is provided by the demolishers and the platoon command squads, whilst anti-infantry is covered by the large amount of flamers and plasma.
With the mobility on offer this list should be able to easily exploit weaknesses in the opponents plan and punish mistakes quickly, whilst still being able to make use of cover. Ideally the game would progress into short range firefights, where concentration can be used to break key units up and simly roll up onto objectives when needed.
In an open field with a strong ranged opponent the list may be vulnerable, so chances would have to be taken or units sacrificed to close the distance.

A typical mech list that is designed for complete aggression. Moving all chimeras forward in turn on and deploying smoke is the first step. Then unleasing flaming and melta death on important enemy targets. While the Leman Russ Tanks slowly advance (or stay still) destroying MEQ infantry.
The sentinels are to make flanking attacks, either shooting the side armour of vehicles with autocannons or burning and assualting infantry with there heavy flamers.
The vets are also given shotguns because if there transport is destroyed they can now shoot and assault enemy units and actually get saves. Where as standing in open ground with often give them nothing.
