Well, here I am, a poor college student, struggling to fill out my ranks without having to compromise firepower. My list calls for two plasma gunners in my Platoon CO. Seeing as how I don't have those metal Cadian gunners, I was little perplexed as how to go about this. I hate Space Marines, as an aside. Their sprues come with almost ALL their options available. We don't get carapace armor additions or plasma/melta guns. I call shenanigans. Anyway, I'm staring at all the leftover flamers I have, and a thought occured to me. IDEA GET! Here's a little sketch to give you an idea how this will look when it's finished. Comments and critiques will be appreciated.

That's awesome! I hear ya about the whole poor college student deal, man. I saw someone do the same concept with a meltagun. I'm about to follow suit once I get home for the holidays...

This is pretty cool, I've done up a couple of guys with it and it looks good.

For the backpack, I cut all the little antennae and the vox off a vox caster, and I'm running a 1mm leather cord from the gun tip to the backpack. I'm using black, so I can easily basecoat around it.

It still looks too much like a flamer to me, perhaps you could fill in the perforations in the flamer nozzle with some GS. That would probably do the trick.
Still looks like a decent concept though! Thanks for sharing!

'e's dun! A flamer sprue, a vox caster, a leather cord, a little imagination, and it's party time!

Unpainted I was really unsure, but after the paint job, it looks pretty spiff, definitely 'uge enough.

ohhhhhh I see it now! You filled in the gaps in the flamer head with GS....
I'm definitely gonna do that! Great idea!
