Hi, sorry if this this is in the wrong place or if there's already a thread on it, but I'm wondering how useful purity seal is for preserving figures. Lots of my old Marines are bad paint jobs anyway, but I'm sure they've got worse with time. When I get round to updating them to my current standard, would a coat of purity seal on the model help maintain the paint job? Thanks for your help!

I used it on my latest squad and it seems ok. It does change the look slightly but it didn't spoil my miniatures. However, don't go using loads and loads, use it sparingly and it can look good.
Time will tell if it is much good at stopping damage, I havn't used the minis yet.

I prefer Army Painter matte spay to seal my minis. This is especially true when they are metal; metal models chip and wear so much quicker if left unvarnished.

To protect my minis from game damage, I usually start by a spray of gloss varnish, before dulling it with 1-2 light coats of matt varnish. Gloss varnish is stronger than matt varnish, it will provide more protection on the long run.
I'm using Vallejo varnish because I'm usually spraying through the airbrush nowadays.

Have to say I have seen some really nice minis wrecked by spray on varnish, ard coat what ever.
I would get a pot that u paint on by brush, rather than risk the spray one. I use the GW one, and works ok. Have matt and gloss (fro when I want a shiney look) but not sure if they still sell them tbh

I just bought a pot of gloss varnish today, so they still sell it.
