Hi everyone.. I thought I will share some work I have done recently. Starting with a small introduction, these are test pieces for the project that I've had on my mind for ages, but never had enough skill to do it. The influence of certain official armies is obvious, however it was not my intention, at least not in general. In other words, what you can see below represents what I could do, not what I wanted to do. My inspiration comes from the old game called Warzone, the Imperial Trenchers to be exact and that is how I wish the final product to look like. Look out for the available artwork if you're interested. In regard to the models below. The idea is to sculpt the bottom part of a coat, a collar and a cuff, and tie them with the rest of the upper uniform at the painting stage. The backpack with a large blanket is to add mass to a model at his head level. The flak armour stays on top of the trench coat. Sculpting the coat over it seemed a waste of time, as it will be covered by a weapon anyway. Besides, if you have a burning shrapnel in your vest, the last thing you want to do is to fight with your coat. I appreciate the images are quite big, if this is a problem please let me know and I will resize them..somehow.

*Takes tissue samples from both new members so that clones may be produced as needed* Welcome to the IGMB, both of you. These are very nice looking conversions! They look like they could make nice Death Korps of Krieg stand-ins (and aren't horribly fragile like the FW DKoK models are). I'm looking forward to seeing more, and seeing them painted!

Looks really good. When I did my greatcoats, I found that filing away some of the waist and parts covered by the GS made the finished product look less bulky.
Keep up the good work.

Bulkyness is one thing, but it also makes it much easier to model if you don't have stuff sticking out. The side pockets and bottom of the uniform jacket have to go. Removing some of the boot straps is usually a good idea but depends on where the coats bottom line will end up.
As for heads and backpacks, it's Pig Iron and my own. The bottom picture shows the master sculpt as the resin cast doesn't show too much details.
Glad you guys like it. Currently I'm working on different heads and shoulderpads, and most likely will swap from coats to capes, in a similar style to Imperial Trenchers.

Very nice start - how hard are they to model?
I only ask because I wonder whether it might get a bit loborius converting enough models for a whole army. Good luck with it though - they'd look really nice and are different enough from the DKoK models to warrant the work done.

Good job! I love the backpack too. How hard was the casting process? Its not something Ive ever done, yet it would save me a lot of time/bits doing something similar!

It took me a while, but take into account these are test pieces and I'm still working on my technique. I'd guess 2h per model, that's excluding time for the material to set. So yes.. not the best idea for a horde army and I will see you in a few years time.
In regards to casting, I suggest you look for casting and mouldmaking tutorials and see for yourself. Like with everything, it's easy once you know what you're doing. Edit: One important bit though, I use two part solid silicone for moulds, not liquid. It's easier to handle.

The whole backpack is built from scratch. I used greenstuff mixed with procreate and procreate alone, hence the different shades. As long as you do it in stages, all the individual parts are surprisingly easy to make and correct if necessary.

Very nice! I like the deft usage of hole punchers. Also, Clonerman 1974, you never cloned me ;.;

Just a small update on the work I've done recently on my trenchers, which hopefuly you will find interesting. In short, I have decided to ditch the metal heads and make my own. All heads come in two pieces, helmet and a head. It simplifies casting a lot and allows to sculpt berets and othe headgear without making a whole new head. Here's how the originals look like: Original 4 models redone and sprayed: Some new models, currently I have another 7 almost completed. To break from the routine I have designed a veteran as well: In general, the army will contain approximately 80 models in 2000pts list, complete with chimera transports, artilery and vendetta gunships. I also plan to add a squad of psykers and as there seems to be no sufficient models I'm going to sculpt them myself.

Dam some real nice work here have a warzone feel to these but in a good way great sculpting skills you should sell these bits they work well if you do PM me please.
I would be interested for sure, Good idea doing the mask as a separate cast that way you can alter easily, the back packs are spot on as well (trust me I have tried to find some online and these are better than most of them) great work and will keep a watch of your work.

They remind me of the old Imperial models from the Warzone range mixed with DKoK. Good.
