I've always fancied the old beret wearing stormtroopers over the newer ones, and with my new army one of my first goals is to make some retro style stormies. This is the test mini- he's held together with blue tak at the moment, but all the pieces are assembled to my liking, so he just needs paint a glue. This is my first time working with GS, so opinions are appreciated. Thanks, and enjoy. Comparison shot to an actual classic Stormtrooper: And a back comparison shot:

I like painting the torso before attaching the arms, otherwise it is just too frakking hard to get the details. I'm not sure about the backpack, now that I look at it. I'm thinking of adding a bedroll or something on top of it to make it less recognizable as a vox-caster set. Opinions?

I think you could cut off a few of the doohickeys on the side. Also, why does that old stormie have cat eyes?

Well I did paint the original when I was in elementary school, so I don't think its too bad.
Which "doohickeys"? Like the handle on the backpack?

Cool, I like the conversion, I think the backpack looks good as it is, I can't think of anything to add to it or take off it, just wondering where did u get the head for your converted stormie? and I like the paintjob of the old stormtrooper ps: edit was because I spelt paintjob without a 'p'
