WW1 Leman russ conversion

hey I'm going to be starting a new IG army. i plan on having a WW1 themed army I'm sure that most of you are aware of the Bretonian men at arm's + Cadian guardmen = nice trench troops

i have the troops figured out but i still have a problem with leeman russ. as most of you know the Mark I and IV did not have a turret and i couldn't figure out how to get a turret to look good on it. also the mark IV's where too so i was stuck on this fact until i was watching the last crusade last weekend when i saw this...





i admit that it is a bit to long but still now that i have my concept I'm Turning to you guys on ideas on how to accomplish this all i can think of is chopping and lengthening with plasticard. also the turret is going to be tricky

For the turret you could try using a chimera's turret.

I think the turret goes quite well with the WW1 theme

Yeah, you really gotta mix and match what you can get your hands on, but, try other model tanks and 40K them up.

That would be my sugguestion. go 1/35th scale and keep the model simple. The smaller scale will ensure your tank fits a relatively scale footprint. add some Imperial Aquilas, some guard tank crew and fix a leman russ cannon onto the front.

maybe an autogun turret?
If you really want it to look like the real tank, you would probobly like to to extend it a bit. But that will be hard.

check out the malcador tank. i think it looks a lot like the tank from crusade. i scratch built one, its pretty awesome. they're not much bigger than a russ and if your opponent agrees to it you can prolly convince them to let you use it as either tank. for regular games say its a russ but for apocalypse use the malcadors rules or something. when i get a chance i'll try to post pics. if you want to know where i found the template just pm me
