I have only recently acquired washes, and I'm loath to rewrite my painting history... For the most part.

Nice looking stuff, Walrus, especially the Dark Eldar. The only thing I think that you painting needs now is for you to develop the technique of making lenses and eyepieces look "jewelled." It's actually fairly easy to do, if a bit time consuming.

I actually have no idea how to do it, so any help would be appreciated.... I have an update! Another Dark Eldar ;D A comparison between old and new...

I actually have no idea how to do it, so any help would be appreciated.... Well sir it's time to learn ... This will be how to do the lenses in Red, but you can jus change it accordingly.. 1) Paint the lense black or a very dark red. 2) Paint on a layer of a slightly lighter red, leaving some black in a corner. 3) Add another lighter layer. 4) One more lighter layer for luck. 5) Put a white spot in the dark corner, and you're done Just whipped that up for you. You'll need a very thin brush for sure, but with some practice it's an amazing little technique that makes the models pop. Cosmic

Thanks a ton, Cosmic. I will be sure to try this out soon... Oh, look, a handy Banshee. With no paint, and gems...
Looks like this is a project for tonight. Work, then dinner with a friend will come before this, but it will be done.

Well, if you want a really stunning chaotic army, try limiting yourself to 2 or 3 colours, and alternate what colours you paint different things...

well, most of his men are Alpha Legion with a 20 man blob of Khorne Beserkers.... and i'm getting hold of Abadon for him as he doesnt have a HQ yet. But his army is mainly black and gold. the KB are red and gold. so mostly a black colour scheme then? maybe add some gold for a sergeant?

Hang on, If his dudes are mainly black and gold that would make them Black Legion not Alpha...

Well, what you could do is have a standard colour setup of black, bronze (gold is to good for the minions), and the colour of their chaotic dedication (blue for Tzeench, red for khorne, a sort of green for Nurgle and a pink or purple for Slaanesh).
