The GW rough riders are.... stupid ... ugly as sin
the death riders from forge world are beautiful but didnt fit the style of my army. too . dark .. with theirs masks.
do you have any good ideas for conversions?
other good models?

Empie pistoliers are quite a common conversion, when combined with Cadian bits they might look quite good. Also, the horses are unbarded and un embelished, which is rather rare and great!

I think segway riders are silly but if you like them then enjoy.
I went with the cold ones but they are quite heavy on parts. I have heard that Chaos Marauder Horsemen can be good but need a lot of the chaos bits trimming and filing off to fit in. I think that the legs look the best out of the choices though, and they come with spears. The pistoliers have too much leg armour for my liking.
Add a pinch of salt, I have assembled neither of those kits.

I think the most important question is: what IS the style of your army? You say the Atillans look stupid and the Krieg ones don't fit, what is the rest of your army like? For example, my army is based on an agri world and they are a bit backwater and very religious, so the conversions I did based on empire knights fit my theme. If you elaborate on the rest of the army, people will be better able to suggest things that would mesh well.

Couldn't agree more It all depends on your army's flare my army being closely tied to Machine Cults use bikes, SM scout bikes work great, If your army is extremely high tech there are eldar kits that could work for rough riders, |

 I use some tallarn RR, converted the special character mogul out of fantasy empire engineer horse, elysian body(though any would do, I just have a spare), catachan parts, and dark elf cold one knight lance, pistolier horses; all on the rounded biker bases as they look so much better than the normal horse bases. |
