I think it will be great! Just work a little on the details, I think the black ink will do much!

And well personally I love the Vallejo colours, they are much better then the GW ones in my opinion.

Citadel is good, but rather expensive. Citadel paints are great for me because they dont seperate out after a long time, but they are quite a bit of money for such a little pot of paint. And that scheme looks great, I had never thought of using Death Korps minis for desert fighters but now that you think of it they are perfect for it, with their masks and filters and such. I think the brown ink wash is a good idea too.

Reaper Paint is generally better quality than citadel, plus its got the same colours + some.
