Hi all, I've just started a renegade force, and thought I'd upload some pics. It's my first 5 men, I know the quality's crappy, but I just wanted to see what you guys think. Yeah, they're not too great and you can barely see them, but I just wanted to give you guys a rough idea. When I've got some stuff painted, I'll take some better pics. Any C&C/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes Shostak finally! Now get painting! C&C time..... The posing looks really good controlled yet quite mean looking. They do however just look like normal Guardsmen, are you going to chaos-ify them a bit more? Perhaps scratch in some symbols on their armour and rough it up a bit? Looking forward to more! Cosmic

Aha!
Thanks for the C&C, however there is some stuff you can't see due to the quality of the images:
-I'm trying to give them a rag tag, less unified look with different weapons and eventually some different torsos. Of course with only 5 men it doesn't show. -I've added a fair bit of battle damage to the armour, and some chaosy tatoos to some of the bare heads but yeah, I'll go a bit more all out. -Again, impossible to see but the sergeant equivalent is carrying a socking great mean looking halberd!
But thanks, I very much appreciate the advice.

Really, I wouldn't worry too much about them not having that full chaotic flavour until they are fully painted... Unless you go all the way and get stuff from forgeworld (I think you can do that...).

Well...I have got stuff from forgeworld mixed in; just in very small amounts to add flavour while making it last. Anyway, last night and this morning I painted up a forgeworld rogue pysker, and here he is. And I thought I'd get some better pics of my renegades. And a close up of the halberd/glaive/billhook guy. (I can't decide what it is)!

Well I do believe halberds/glaives/billhooks all have some sort of spike on the top of them as well as the cutting axe edge, so I'd say it was a normal axe. But I could very well be proven wrong The Rogue Psyker looks fantastic, you've done a great job, I like the pale skin. A few washes though could make the red clothe look even better though.

Heresy though it may be, I'm looking forward to seeing this project grow - especially after seeing your loyal guard up close and in the flesh

Mmmmmm, those are some nice pictures I would call the boss' weapon a polearm, because halberds have a pointy bit on the end, and the pole is too long for a wieldable axe... That Psyker is looking good as well...

Okay, thanks for the commets and the weapon clarification!
@ cosmic. What washes do you suggest? I was thinking perhaps Devlan Mud to dirty him up a bit, but I wasn't really sure.

Awesome! I suggest you put some sort of rag tag flag on the vox pole, I think it will add to the renegade theme.

Delvan would be good, it might bring out some of features on his upper body on the skin. For the Red I'd say anything dark really, Badab Black or Gryphonne Sepia, or an actual Red wash, followed by some highlights should make it look awesome.

Looking forward to this! Any plans for the vehicles yet, perhaps some possessed tanks?

@ cosmic. I've recently added Devlan to the red, it worked rather well, and I'll prbably use it on the skin too. Lledwey. Thanks! I'll probably add a sentinel or two, but keep it mainly with infantry for a while. The renegades are on the painting table; they're about half done.

Yeah, I know it's a double post... Anyway, the renegades are done: And I've washed the pysker: C&C welcome as always!

Oh it's all good... I think your washes on the traitor guard were a little thick/too much... Not that it doesn't look good, just that it isn't how I would have done it...

They look slightly better in real life but you're right. I'll try not to go so all out next batch round.
As a quick update, I've assembled the other half of the squad, ready to paint later this week.
I've just noticed that one of my pics has been deleted. Is that because I deleted it from photobucket?

Yeah, if you delete it then it's removed from here too . They are looking great, next lesson though...highlighting

Right, I've finished my next 5 men, and was going to post some pics. Sadly however, my camera USB thing is malfunctioning so I can't.

Does your computer have an SD card slot?

I don't think so. It might be the computer, I'll play around over the weekend and see what I can sort out. If not, I'll have to get a new USB when I can.

Thanks mate!
Right, time for a verbal update! I've painted the other rogue pysker from the Forge World set and converted a priest. Imagine a big hairy man in chainmail and some plate armour weilding a sentinel chainsaw on a stick.
