Quick question: will mineral spirits or turpentine damage plastic if left for prolonged periods?

Depends on how long you are talking. Turpentine only warped the black plastic bases in my case. But I don't know how plastic responds. Metal should be fine.

I don't know if it will take off enamel or not... Req, it sounds like you need to get some Simple Green, try it, and then let us all know the results...

Same as Gabriel, I always use Acetone free nail varnish remover. Work's in seconds and doesn't harm plastic.

Ive heard that simple green works the best and will not damage plastic or metal. Just let it sit for about a day As for brake fluid I've heard too many horror stories, so I won't even try that route. anything from eating the plastic and metal to warping and melting. Simple Green for me please!

I soaked a Chimera turret in clorox bleach and it took off acrylics and enamel paint, it took a few days to get through it all, but there's no plastic damage I could see.
