My idea was to cut up binocs and glue each half down on the lasgun to make reflex, or red dot sights.

Hmm, you know those little tiny scopes that are sposed to go with the HW weapons? I stick em to my squad based "designated marksmen", it works well as a scope, or sight and it stands out quite a bit. Very good.

I do it this way: Cut the tradtional sight away. So that you'll have a smooth surface on the upper side of the lasgun. Then cut a piece of the side of a plastic sprue. You will have to choose between different sizes. Choose the thinnest one. It could be the one from the HW spreu. Gleu it one the upper side of the lasgun and voila! It could be this tutioral is a bit bad. Im just 15 years old and not english. But I'm posting a thread soon about my army you'll see it then. Oh and the sights from the HW sprue do look really cool to. zumbaz

That's what I did for my hellguns (I am planning to make some plastic stormies) I trimmed down the top of the lasgun and added half a pair of binoculars. I then replaced the barrel with the end of a kroot rifle Will post pics when I can get a good enough pic

This idea works for all lasgun variants:-
Step 1:- cut of the top front of the lasgun with clippers Step 2:- File it down so it is flat and smooth. Step 3:- Take a space marine scope and slightly trip the sides of its stand so it fits flush with the top of the lasgun. Step 4:- glue it on.
There are many sites on the web where you can buy individual bitz from the plastic frames. Their not expensive only about 20p but are in high demand so you may have to shop around.
I will get some example Pic’s ASAP

My cheap-@ss solution that works better than anything else you'll find (maybe.) Go to the local dollar store or supermarket. Look for fancy toothpicks or cocktail sticks that look like this: Cut the ornate tip off one, trim to size/shape with the rounded end out (or not, it's a taste thing.) Glue to top of lasgun, etc. They look particularly good on my hardened vets autoguns. One container can outfit a platoon. Let me know how it works out for you. Best, Yeti

Something I found works is coffee-stirrers from my local Hardees. They are just tiny hollow tubes that make perfect scopes when painted to match your gun.

Wow, it worked, what do you think. I'm planning on making a squad of 10 cheapskate stormtroopers with greenstuff carapace, the hellguns shown above and PIG-IRON PRODUCTIONS heads

I think you better put the sight more on the back of the gun. But I like at anyway.

Has anyone played Call of Duty 4 here? The reason why I mention it here is because I was thinking that a potentially simple conversion for weapon sights would be to put a red-dot sight (peep sight) on the gun. It'd make for a pretty easy, yet effective conversion, if you ask me.
Then again, with CoD4 in mind, a whole SLEW of projects come to mind...

I have two different sights I use. To simulate an ACOG (4x magnification sight), I use the scopes from the SM Bolters. To represent the EoTech (1x magnification holographic sight), I use the optic from the HW Team sprue. I place both behind the ejection port on my lasguns.
I have also started putting tactical white lights on some of my lasguns. I have been cutting the sights of the Elysian special weapons. They give that urban assault feel to the model. Any type of Elite troops would have tactical lights on their weapons. I know I used mine overthere everyday.
