Hello everyone!
I'm a longtime lurker that has only recently registered, currently in the process of starting my second IG army.
I'm planning on converting a Jopall Indentured Squadron army from cadian plastics, (fluff and basic picture here wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Jopall_Indentured_Squadrons )
I'm not going to stick with that strange turquoise camo scheme shown in the GW art. What I am going to do is use the white armor/helmet as the defining piece of their kit. I'm sure fluff-wise they swap camo patterns out depending on the battlefields environment.
Anyhow, here is where I stand currently. I have narrowed down the basic paint scheme to 3 possibilities;
1) Right shoulder pad white, other pad/helmet painted to match camo scheme
2) Both pads + helmet white, rest of model painted in camo scheme
3) Pads white, helmet + rest of body camo scheme
Option #1 is what I am leaning most heavily towards. I'm not sure how the all white armor would look - and for all I know the "official" picture is of them in Ice World camo...So the white armor may not have much to do with the Jopall squadrons at all. As far as the white goes - I want to go for a muted, dirty looking white. Maybe even going so far as to use a color similar to these shoulder pads ( us.games-workshop.com/download/popup.htm?/games/40k/spacemarines/painting/bloodravens/images/blood-raven4.jpg )?
As soon as I get a few test figures painted up I'll post em so everyone can get a better Idea of what I have in mind - but until I do I'm interested in any input you have.
Also - If anyone has any links or photos laying around of other converted/painted Jopall armies, please share them! I'm interested to see what other approaches have been taken to creating this army.
