I have started a guard army and realized my doctrines are similar to the Tanith First and only so i decided to pick up the books. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE ARMY, but I'm not doing a tanith army personally. I like the cadian models for the infantry bodies, but i don't wnat helmets, I have been looking aorund for heads. Catachan look liek the best option but i dont liek how they look. How about some advice on other choices. Also anyone know how i can pick up some of the old tanith models including the named ones like Milo, and Dorden in specific.

You should look into the Empire heads. They have cool beards and other facial features. Talk to your other gamers, they probbly have lots of extra bitz laying around.

the problem is Empire has either helmets or hats, i want neither. Beards are yes or no, no preference really, but hair is a must lol so catachan are last resort

also SM scouts have bare heads, try other companies head sprues like west wind, I think I got that right, or check Urban War in google thaey have cool minis some of them might fit.
That is unless you just like me want only GW products, I would say stick with catachans.

If you're comfortable with a paintbrush and don't mind using non-GW products, I'd say order some head sprues from Pig Iron Productions (Google the name). Their stuff isn't half bad, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I normally get mine through the War Store.

Yes but pig iron does not have many bare heds most have gas masks and bulky helmes cool for DKoK tanith not sure maybe some
for tanith I would suggest bare heads of wh elves or wh40k eldars I have seen minis converted in this way pretty cool I am also thinking of adding a few of those for flavour.

Empire.
SM Scouts (they are bareheaded, NOT bald, so they do fit your description.)
Pig Iron Productions.
Urban War.
A few Catachan heads.
A few Cadian heads.
It sounds to me like you've been given some good advise by all responders on where to look to find heads w/o helmets and some hair, between all those you'll have a very decent mix.

Or Bartertown.com, or the trader section of any other minigaming forum site (like this one and TMP's, to name two that come to mind.)
That's about all you can hope for.
I know there was a bunch of Tanith stuff up this weekend at eBay, an easy dozen or more figures stripped down + new blister packs unopened, but looks like there is only two blisters left right now (6 figures total), and a UK seller w/13 painted up.
