Although I don't have a chopper from them, I did buy a B-25 kit from Revell that was 1/48th scale, and it's a touch too small to be in line with 40k. That said, it's a better bet than 1/35th, which is the right size for making super heavies, not normal IG stuff. If you do grab a 1/48th scale kit, keep in mind you're probably going to have to replace the guns, since the ones with the kit will be a bit...dinky.
Also, since Vens and Valks are supposed to have transport capacity, you might be better off using them as Vultures.

I have an A-10 model that's almost the right size for a vendetta. Ignoring the fact that it can carry troops, it's as close as I could hope for for something that's 1/3 the price. Or... a normal price for a model plane.

Simple solution? Get yourself a Vulture kit from Forge World. www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Imperial_Navy/VULTURE-GUNSHIP.htmlI picked one up about two months back and it's the nicest FW kit I've ever had the pleasure to build, and it looks wicked. I hope I'll be able to get around to painting it some day when my coursework eases up. You can outfit them with multiple rocket pods, and possibly missiles as well. I built mine modularly (getting a second set of Valkyrie wings from eBay) so I can swap between TL Punisher cannons and quad multiple rocket pod configurations. Pure win...

And how much did you spend on it, Trooper? £56.20 normally and then the spare wings on top..... ouch.... i like the revell idea better >.> Yeah, it was a little expensive for the FW kit. Well worth it though, it's seriously the best FW kit I've ever had the pleasure to build. If you can afford it, I highly encourage you to get the Vulture kit. The extra set of Valkyrie wings cost me very little--under $12.00 for the wings, landing gear, and extra set of rocket pods if I'm remembering correctly. Edit: Near the bottom of the page you can see my Vulture assembled with the TL Punishers. Wasn't primed yet though when I took the photos... www.commissar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=picpost&action=display&thread=11508&page=11

It's the best FW kit I've ever had the pleasure to build. There are only a couple of major pieces and they glue together quite nicely. The only problem I had with mine was a mold line on the tail fin parts, which required me to plane the edges down so they'd be level. The plastic Valkyrie bits incorporate seamlessly with the resin parts.
If you can save up money for it, it is a worthwhile investment.
