The infamous sniper rifle from the Soviet Union! I have experimented with this idea, the concept of a SVD for my snipers, and it achieved fruition!
You take a normal lasgun, cut off the barrel, that the barrel of the chimera lasgun, and glue it to the end. One you have done this, give it a suitable scope, and voila! Your very own soviet sniper!
I've done this numerous times, when I have decent photos I will upload them!

YAY that only works out at about 20 pounds per 6 lasguns :-| Doesn't seem very cost effective LOL 40 pounds per squad hehehe...

hopefully pics soon, but I use DA(deviant art). Its expensive, but I had some extra bits layin around from a chimera I busted, and that was the end result, I figure...heyyy...those would look spiffy on the end of a las gun.

That's actually pretty cool. I have some lasgun bitz leftover from the Hellhound model I got some time ago and was wondering what I should do with all of the spare chimera lasguns that came included with the model. This should be interesting!

commisar you crazy, commie nutter , i too did this converstaion put half a pair of bino's on for a scope, then wrapped it in green stuff strips and bits of twigs from my sentinals and made a sniper rifle. which was then given to my SAS looking old style storm troopers, its a great simple converstion, and if you make hell hounds there are always loads of spare las gun bits lying around

I'd rather see a R700 look alike. I am having trouble imagining this "Dragunov" mini. It sounds like it looks cool, not sure if it would actually look anything like a Dragunov though....

Oh it does, it looks great. You turn the lasgun upside down so the short end it ontop and glue it on like that, it looks so dragunov like! And the scope works so well from the heavy weapons team.

What would you use to colour it, though? AKs and by extension many if not all old/semi-old weapons have these wooden bodies.

Well the modernized versions are black... Even the AK series has gone black cept for the AK47's. The Dragunov is even black as well...they got rid of wooden furniture, it was too heavy.

Indeed, a truly superb work of gunsmithing IMO. The AK-47 has certainly earned its reputation

After converting all of my Chimrae into Hellhounds I now have loads of the hull-mounted Lasguns spare...... might give this conversion a whirl.

I chopped off the tips of one lasgun, and cut the other one in half just after the cip, then glued the half a las gun onto the one with out the tip, added a sight from the heavy weapon set, wrapped the gun in some strips of paper soaked with PVA and you have a sniper rifle.
