Hey guys, I've just got a question regarding the Elysian models.
I was thinking about building a small, fluffy list of men using these guys because of how light their armor looks. I think, for a Light Infantry feel (even though I won't play them as drop troops), this could be really cool.
That being said, the only part of the Elysian models I'm not totally in love with is their helmets. I'm not so hot for the visor-look on all of my guys.
So, the question is -- do you think the Elysian models would look silly with regular cadian or catachan model heads?
Thanks,
-S.B.

I don't think the Cadian heads would look good on them, but if you avoid some of the faces with the more ridiculous expressions the Catachan heads might work well on them. Of course, I collect Catachans, and I think the plastic Cadians are generally horrible, so I might be biased...

Whilst I don't own Elysians, from what I've seen on the net I don't think Cadian heads would look good.
I would recommend that you take a look at the WestWind WWII heads. Many of these are just a smidgeon smaller than GW heads - not by much, as they are still passable on Cadian bodies, but possibly enough to suit the Elysians. I think the Elysians would look pretty cool with one of the beret series.

I get the impression that Cadian or Catachan heads would be noticeably out of scale.

Forge World and GW models generally do not mix well. The reason I say this (I have DKoK and Cadians) is that Forge World models are on a slightly different scale. Everything is just a tad smaller. Well, more than a tad. The heads wouldn't really fit the bodies, from my perspective. (Fun Fact: ForgeWorld's models are scaled in a more realistic manner. Ever notice how GW models look kind of awkward when next to Forge World ones?) So, to sum up my response with an answer to the original question: I believe it would look very silly, proportionately. If the heads were the same proportions, then no, they would not look silly. Here's a pic, to show what I mean. (I believe the DKoK and Elysians are the same scale.) Also, sorry for not having the best pic quality. I believe that you can still see the difference clearly. Hope this helps!

Hmmm... Orren does make a good point--I'd forgotten about the scale differences between FW and standard GW plastics. A third party vendor might be the way to go.

Wow. Thank you guys for the quality responses. That reference picture is great, Orren. I'm thinking the cadian head would look ridiculous.
I think the slightly-smaller Westwind heads might work. I could buy the British Paratroopers with Berets set (that name might be wrong), giving them a Special Operations sort of look.
Thanks again, guys,
